"kapelle house offers something special and is one of our favorite places to visit. it is located in the heart of the beautiful medieval village dunster. from the original and imaginative device to the lush aromas in their homemade furnishings, this is really more than just a caffe! the furniture consists of a series of quirky tables and chairs with interesting tops (they have to visit to find out what! . with unique, individual salt pepper sets, miniature milk bottles and urns (which can now be bought and the imaginative light fittings, the love to detail is brilliant! the two young owners have worked so hard as they have taken over the facility in the last summer and their drive and their determinedness has certainly paid off! what was once a boring village shop is now a flourishing hub of the common. they will always receive a warm, friendly welcome and a first-class service (that they expect from a first-class restaurant, but rather often do not receive! . besides the excellent food, the carpal house offers a series of original gifts, household goods and traditional toys, all too cheap trips. we can not recommend the carpentry enough, except to say that they have to pay a visit! Well done to you young, it's great!"

The restaurant offers an incredible variety of gluten-free cakes and desserts. Every item on display, including over 20 baked options, was gluten-free and absolutely delicious!

Absolutely wonderful owners who couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The coffee is the best I have had whilst home in England and the orange and raspberry sponge cake (which was dairy and gluten free) was delicious..... all enjoyed in quirky surroundings

a fantastic tee room with excellent staff and fabulous eating. my man, my son and I had a wonderful lunch and bought great gifts. to complete it, although we cannot eat milk, milk sugar or gluten (due to allergy and zöliakie) we had a lot of choice and felt very welcome and supervised.

This Asian tea room is an outstanding replacement to the Chapel House tea room, All the gins are still there plus rums now. We had a sharing platter of home cooked ham and local cheese (wow On the table beside us two bowls of noodles...which smelled fantastic. The service was delightful. The interior is virtually unchanged, so is still brilliant. Strongly recommended.

came from wales to visit dunster castle, but spent a fair bit of time I am here. the original plan was to have a cup of tea, but when we saw the menu, decided to have an amazing plower. the owner even explains where the cheese comes from. it was great. then had a disc victoria sponge, which I would highly recommend. after visiting the castle we went back for more teacakes. the staff was very friendly, eating was reasonably expensive. will definitely go back.

The George Inn

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
