"After walking around Saint-Emilion for over an hour looking for somewhere to eat that was both outside and was reasonably priced we settled on this place. That was a mistake. We had already walked out of one restaurant nearby as the set menu had ended and at 2:30 we knew a lot would be closing at 3 so sat down more out of frustration/desperation than anything else.I ordered a salmon salad, which was the smallest meal of the 3 we ordered. At a cost of €16.50 it was pretty steep for €3 worth of ingredients. My wife had an omelette that was adequate and the 'salad' it came with was literally just lettuce. The Camembert burger our friend had was of a similar standard. The bread that accompanied the meal was hard and stale so was either yesterday's left overs or had been sliced in the morning and left out. We had a bottle or Rose (the cheapest on the list at €22) and would only be a couple of euros in the shop. All in all you are paying for sitting outside at the top of the hill. Yes this was an obvious mistake and not one we make very often but at the time you just hope that they might buck the TTT trend. Afraid not!!!!"

Die Preise sind einfach nur unverschämt. Eine Kaffe kostet 4,50, ein estrem kleines Frühstück 11 und ein Omlett aus drei Eiern 9 Euro. Absolue Abzocke.

we were attracted to the location, beautiful terrace. all the rest is execrable: unpleasant servers, fade food and poor quality, the caesar salad is to be formally avoided and the fries of children returned unfounded of salt. They didn't even want it.

Had lunch today at Chez Germaine, I have read some scathing reviews and yes it's not cheap, set menu 29€ but I couldn't fault the food, it was really nice, it is in a great location with some lovely views just a few steps away. St Emilion has to be the prettiest town in France

chosen restaurant ppur the foie gras menu very well but then the dishes and desserts were well medium rotdos of duck magret but small burger not bad the dessert the strawberry soup and surprising no fruit a juice of strawberries without too much taste all this for 29 euros a little expensive even. otherwise aggressive service

We stopped to have a quick meal, an oven camembert and something else to chop. I cannot therefore make a complete opinion. what we took was fine, although the letter is limited and simple. nothing to get complicated. The site is very good and on a very hot day they had vaporizers, which is very much appreciated. They treated us well and quickly.

Restaurant well located on the place of the bell tower when arriving in the center of st Emilion. On the other hand, too high for quality: child menu at 10€ for fries or croque gentleman with dessert and drink!Burger at 20€ and daily menu at 29€ with dessert flat entrance, the dish is not very copied.Map of wines with too expensive glass, live the tourist catch! Too bad because service is pretty nice.

"I wish I would read some of the last reviews before we sit down and order. first, when I asked for a table for 4, the waiter asked me if we had kids, if yes, how old they are. strange. when I said they were, it was considered acceptable. in the history of eating countless meals with our children, we were never asked how old they are before we get a table. that should have been a warning. our daughter sat down while they prepared the table (it was almost 40 degrees, she felt weak. the woman (owner/owner pushed her away and left her waiting outside. very rude. this same woman had a very acidic expression all the time we were in the restaurant (this behavior is the source of the rude French stereotype ho hum . later, when our daughter went to the restroom, the older man who worked in the restaurant (also owner/manager? followed her without knocking and asked her if she was a customer of the restaurant! unbelievable. she was destroyed that we were angry. we have been sitting there for over an hour, as he had not noticed that his customers beyond me (it is not a big restaurant . he follows all his customers into the bathroom? would he have followed my man? absolutely unacceptable behavior and behaved we should deal quickly at this time. it is hard to know why these people actually work in hospitality and if they don't like tourist, why do they have a restaurant in the middle of a city with tourist heaving? on the plus side was the young man who served us very nice, that was okay. I wish we had taken our business elsewhere."
