"Ordered a takeaway for 2 people, after going on the website to look at the menu to find there wasn’t one, “ coming soon”, ok, not a problem as ordered a few times from here and knew exactly what we wanted. Ordered 2 starters, 2 rice a curry and ribs plus couple soups, was amazed at the price! Couldn’t believe it, but was too gobsmacked to query it…I know, my fault entirely……but to be charged more than £12 for the same items from a few weeks ago??? Was the meal worth it? Definitely not, ribs overcooked, curry was mainly onions bit of meat, bit spicy, ….the spicy bit was ok, didn’t enjoy it one little bit. Sorry, but you’ve lost a customer, definitely won’t be back for takeaway or eat in."

On 30th December, l visited this restaurant and received tremendous service, from the FOH person. She was attentive, checking back, and genuinely cares about the customers.

The two women at the desk were very rude the minute we arrived, making snide comments and looking my partner up and down. The one lady told us it was down to the manager and then told us she was actually one of the managers herself. Speisekarte ansehen

Very dissatisfied this visit. Only set menu available. Service was very poor waiting 20 mins at least for main course. They seemed to be doing all the delivery orders first. We had booked a table so service should have been better. Was not impressed having to pay the service charge which was already on the bill.

I went for the set lunch and the restaurant was quite busy, but the waitress Abby made sure to give each table personal attention. She was polite and attentive. It seemed like many of the guests were regulars as they seemed to know her well. The food was good with generous portions, but Abby truly stood out and made the experience even better.

As for the food itself, it was your typical average Chinese fare. The dishes tasted good, the portions were generous, and would have warranted a 4-star rating on their own. However, I believe that would not do justice to the outstanding effort put in by Abby to make sure we had a wonderful meal. Thanks to her, we left with a desire to return in the future. Absolutely appalling service blamed on weather conditions, which in our area are currently incredibly calm. We waited an hour and half for our delivery only to find the wrong order had been put through. When I called to complain I was faced with a female at the other end of the line shouting and screaming at me. I have lived in Exmouth all my life and I WILL not be using China Garden in the future. Shocking service and shocking customer service. Absolutely disgusting.

We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant. The food exceeded my expectations - the prawn toasties were crispy, hot, and filled with prawns, the satay chicken skewers were juicy with a rich and delicious sauce, and the mains were tasty and nicely spiced. The crispy chilli beef was cooked perfectly, and the rice and noodles were well cooked and not overly salty or thick with MSG. The prices were reasonable, and the lady who booked us in also served as our waitress, being super helpful and genuinely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future.
