I've passed this restaurant hundreds of times and only recently made a reservation to eat.

I live near the Clos du Marquis and pass it often, standing alone and exposed like 'Jamaica Inn' on the long Roman road that used to be the main London Road

We've dined at Clos du Marquis many times over the years and have not yet had a dud meal. Always good quality. Unpretentious. Just genuinely a cut above the average.

This was our sixth visit to this restaurant for lunch with my wife and two friends, and as always, we had a great time. We perused the menu by the cozy fireplace while being entertained by the adorable pigs. We all opted for different starters and main courses, but they all had a French twist. We ended the meal with some deliciously made coffees, topped with homemade chocolate.

Our friends recommended this restaurant and we were pleased that we decided to try it out. We had a hard time deciding from the extensive menu because everything looked appetizing. We ordered the pigeon and lamb main courses, and were impressed with the high quality of the food - none of the dishes disappointed. This is not a place for quick meals, but rather for a leisurely evening enjoying a fantastic meal in a laid-back atmosphere. The wine selection was vast and reasonably priced, although we were a bit let down by the Malbec that we chose. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant in 2016. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nearly perfect, so we didn't hesitate to make a reservation for a special night. Unfortunately, we were let down. The food and service were very good as expected, but the ambiance was not so great, especially because of two children around 7-8 years old making a lot of noise, with their parents not doing much to quiet them down. I am not against children, as I have one myself and know how challenging it can be to keep them well-behaved.
