"We decided to order based on reviews from TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. We ordered a large serving of fish and chips that easily satisfied both of us, as we both have hearty appetites and were full afterwards. Our only complaint was the price, but the quality of the food and the delicious curry sauce and gravy made up for it. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they also offer Saveloys, which is rare at most fish and chip shops these days, as they mostly focus on battered sausages."

Popped in pre match on Easter Monday (2 SAFC fans) for a light snack of fishcake and chips. One of the best fishcakes I have ever tasted and I’ve got 60 years experience. Thank you.

Excellent friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, good size portions and excellent quality food! Best chippy I've ever eaten and I've eaten in a lot of different chip shops in Plymouth and this is by far my favourite and in my opinion the best of them all.

had a nice visit to lunch on Tuesday. I had fish chips and a cup of tea. my friend had the same thing, but with currysoße and mushy. I'm not overly sneaked on the stubborn as I find her too thick, where they should be more sloppy. the fish was perfectly cooked and was nice to eat x will call again :

We went there on Sat 20th May, Chrissie is fantastic, she greets every customer as though they are her friends. The service is quick, each meal freshly cooked and the batter was delicious, I normally leave it everywhere we have it, but it was beautiful and crunchy. The chips were cooked perfectly too. Chrissie is a diamond and as asset to the owners. 10/10 every visit. Speisekarte ansehen

this place, which has not been in a chippy for years, was a delicious and welcome reintroduction. I had the Hiumi bites with small chips and a side of the garden bass that was more than enough for my ravenous, so had to share with my partner. the halloumi was melt-in-mouth composition with light fluffy teig, while the chips were not too fat and the heap aroma. service was very friendly and attentive. a more pleasant, affordable visit – and I would not hesitate to repeat.

I visited the cornwall street fish bar for the first time with my two children. the children ordered both 2 medium sized chess chips and the portions when they arrived at the table were massif. the chips were amazing and the cheese was melted properly, not just thrown up. I recommend to them the cornwall street fish bar not only for their great eating, but also the amazing friendly atmosphere as soon as they get in. if you want a real old school chippy, this is the place to visit.

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
