"If Piazza S Marco is the tourist's center of Venice, then Campo S Magherita may be the local's center of Venice! Located in the center of the Dorsoduro sestiere, Campo S Magherita is a crowd favorite especially among students from Venice's only two universities which flank both sides of the square. Because this square is away from the popular Rialto-San Marco route, you won't find many tourists so many shops here are catered for locals. Here, you will find cheap eats like the cheap takeaway Pizza al Volo [hidden link] ! But even if you do not intend to eat here, take a detour here to people-watch. Here is perhaps where you can see the authentic Venice in working, and fortunately Campo S Magherita has uncharacteristically many benches for you to enjoy the scene. In the evening, the bustling scene in Piazza San Marco dies down, but conversely Campo Santa Magherita becomes more and more lively, so consider grabbing a cup of coffee from the famous Caffe Rossa and enjoy the local Venice in her happy hour mood."

Square deal Without doubt, the best place to spend an evening bar-hopping in Venice. In the funky Dorsoduro area, the campo has some of the best (and latest opening) bars in the city, and it's where people head for after hours action.

Excellent food and service. Good value for money. Definitely recommend. We had lunch here. The ravioli with basil cream was divine. We also had the 3 courses for $13.90 black pasta (cuttlefish pasta? grilled chicken and salad. All excellent.

My sister and I were looking for a decent pizzeria whilst we were in Venice and found this one. It hit the spot for sure. Not only did the food taste fresh, but they were also massive portions! I ordered the breasola pizza and my sister the calzone, and we shared a caprese salad. Unfortunately we were unable to finish all of our food : Speisekarte ansehen

If you want to get away from the crowds, head to this campo. It is a long, odd shaped space in Dorsoduro and is an interesting square because it is surrounded by houses from the 14th and 15th centuries. The square is full of activity small shops, bars, restaurants, small fish market, and street market. It can be full of students from the University of Venice and Ca' Foscari.

How this ^place has changed. Uninspired food. Salmone with little salmone. And the pasta con verdure di stagione came in the same sause. The pasta was not all'dente. The tiramisu came in a big cup, with thick glass. So that I found just six scoupes of tira'. The whiped cream on the lit gave very little consolation. To end on a positive point: according to my wife, the risoto was dilicious. A shame: another one bites the tourist dust. Until last year it was a very good place to eat, whatever happen?

We sat outside which was a treat for us since we typically sit inside in Europe because of all the smoking. The staff was friendly and attentive. Don’t waste your time with the bread they bring to the table. It was dry and stale. Save your appetite for their pasta! We had the gnocchi and the lasagna. Both were very delicious. They told us they make their pasta in house and you can tell that they do. Is it a tourist trap? Your in Venice. Almost everything is a tourist trap. Prices are fair, excellent food and service. A treat to stumble across on a Sunday evening. Speisekarte ansehen

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here on a Saturday night. We were walk ins and chose this place as it offered a bit more variety than others in the area which are very much Venetian and or seafood centric. That said as ever, if its on the menu I had the Spaghetti al nero di seppie. I also had the white fish and mint ravioli which was incredible really would be a fantastic bowl of food to enjoy in the sun with a crisp white wine and sea view. Impressed. Really thought their beer offer was great, had numerous local Venetian beers. I had the Rosso which I rate. Good service, nice atmosphere, romantic. Memorable. Grazie

We stumbled across this little gem on our first night, the places was paced with locals(always a good sign). The waiter asked if we needed a table, he found us a free one as a party were leaving. He replaced the table cloth and set it up fully again for us. Our drinks were served quickly and along with some bread sticks and sliced bread, Not long after our meals came along, lovely ravioli with a creamed basil sauce and a traditional wood fired pizza (not a soggy bottom in sight), we also had a side of fries. Even though the restaurant was really busy the staff were so friendly and jovial, their English is impeccable. The whole, very filling meal came to a mere €39 euros. A real bargain and w...

"This is my second review on this place...after The Fork assured me they would resolve the situation following my complaint about the 20% discount that You Sushi would not honour. Food and drink... no problem. Nice enough food. That 's the good bit out of the way. We booked using The Fork and quoted the 20% discount offer on food and drink. I also reiterated this when we arrived and was told that was fine, no problem! On receiving the bill I again pointed out the 20% discount was missing, even though I 'd gone through this on arrival. They played absolutely dumb and refused the discount. I even showed them their website with the discount on it. To no avail, they weren 't interested. I paid, albeit reluctantly, and we left. I took this up with The Fork. All seemed fine and they gave me Yum points since they agreed I was in the right. I pointed out that Yum points are of no use since the closest UK restaurant I could use them is over 200 miles away! They promised to get back to me, resolve the issue with the restaurant etc so I left it with them. Now they 've washed their hands of it! The discount still shows at 20% for each and every day despite them refusing to honour it!! and The Fork have not taken any action against them. This leaves a very bad taste no pun intended and after the cheating restaurant and The Fork 's complete lack of trying to help other than utterly useless Yum points which are as much use to me a 7 dollar note it 's the last time I use either. So..if you do visit this place, be prepared to be conned out of the 20% discount."
