"Visited this lovely place from Dundalk recently with my family. Have been before but forgot to review. A 5 star experience. Very comfortable restaurant, cozy with a homey atmosphere. Amazing staff, friendly, funny and attentive. And the food is absolutely top class. I had the fresh battered cod with champ. The batter was the crispiest and tastiest batter I've tasted and the cod was so fresh and tender. Im usually a slow eater but if it had been a race this time I might have won . I got the lemon meringue for dessert which was Massive, so I shared with my father. Absolutely divine. And to top it all of the price is so reasonable! Just a lovely place to dine and everyone was very happy and full after."

We were seated very quickly despite the place being extremely busy. All the food was excellent, highly quality, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff were amazing with everyone in the place, very attentive, pleasant and accommodating. The quality of food and service makes the cost an absolute bargain.

Vegtable soup was lovely and homemade wheaten bread was OK. I ordered a ceaser wrap and was presented with baked potatoes oops.fresh tea was delivered with the wrap after a bit of a wait. We had to ask for a dessert menu after waiting a while. I found it all a bit manic and disorganised. Staff where very friendly and helpful but nothing here to get excited about

"Port O Call is a beautiful quaint restaurant set at the heart of the harbour town of kilkeel. It is charming and rustic with a friendly warming atmosphere that makes you feel at home as soon as you enter. "I went to have lunch with a friend and had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was served quickly. The Irish fry I ordered was particularly delicious. I have been back many times since my first visit and have never been disappointed. They offer fresh baked breads daily, including scones, soda bread, and pancakes, as well as delightful desserts. If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop by. Their afternoon tea is also fantastic and a real treat."

"This was the best restaurant we visited during our trip to Northern Ireland. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were outstanding. The portions were generous and absolutely delicious. We indulged in BBQ wings drenched in sauce, a chicken and pulled pork burger, and seafood tagliatelle. Although I'm not a fan of mussels, I asked for them to be removed from my dish, and I was quickly offered a substitute fish. There was plenty of fish, and the sauce was delightful. The fresh chips and burger were devoured completely. We would have gladly returned every day if we had stayed longer. While waiting for our food, we enjoyed chatting with the friendly locals and looking at the amusing signs and decor around the bar. I believe there’s a larger dining area upstairs if needed. The company was wonderful, and the owner was cheerful and eager to assist us. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We’ll definitely be back next time to try the cheesecake and to have some fun with Jeff!"

"For my birthday, my lovely bride took me out to a new restaurant in the Kilkeel Golf Club...Hunters Moon. The Chef has a great reputation from a previous venue in Newcastle and delighted us with his prowess in the Kitchen. Although the menu is compact, it hits all the points that you could want. We started with the Salt and Chili squid and Duck Liver parfait, both were absolutely Spot On. We had a lovely Rioja with dinner that was reasonably priced and had a lovely luscious berry overtone. Our Mains were their 10 oz. dry aged steaks, cooked expertly to a very Med. Rare and accompanied with a Kale and swede side. Some of the best beef that we have had in Ireland. The meal was completed with a couple of panna cotta's that left no room to breathe, let alone...swallow another bite. This Meal should have been scored 5 stars, just because of the quality of the food and the lovely attentive service that we received from the two lovely young ladies that waited on us. The only point that needs improvement is the ambiance of the dining room. It is tired and in need of a little tender loving care. This by no means is the fault of the Chef or restaurant staff and should not prevent you from giving it a try. We know that we will frequent this restaurant...as it is both Fabulous and Affordable."
