"We stayed 4 nights and dined in all evenings . Comfortable with Covid precautions, all staff excelled in that area wearing gloves and masks . Order taking was a huge improvement with no mistakes and food came out as ordered bar one time when I...ordered Duck pink but came out medium and slightly tough. Other night we both had lamb chops, not only did it come out as ordered but tasted absolutely delicious (just melted in the mouth) yummy . Portion sizes too seems to have improved as well as service level and taste of food. Breakfast was as usual very good , you couldn’t leave hungry . Again portions were filling , recommend guests try porridge it’s not on the menu but they would happily make it for you. All teas ,coffees , toasts was included in our cooked breakfast option. Lounge area for pre dinner is very spacious so you shouldn’t be rubbing shoulders with anyone . Best thing about our experience in what is undoubtedly 5 star hotel was the other guests , all smart , polite and courteous. Judging by the very expensive cars parked outside hotel is now pulling in high end guests . Ferrari’s , Rolls-Royce, Porsche’s . Now have to park my wreck around the corner so as not to embarrass the hotel."

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. I highly recommend paying a visit. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the setting is absolutely beautiful.

We are regular visitors to Kinloch Rannoch. This particular visit was to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We thought that the Dunalastair Hotel would be a most suitable place to have our Anniversary Lunch. We called in to see what is was like. I have...never known such an inhospitable and cold welcome'. The hotel decor is grey, as is their sense of hospitality. We dined superbly elsewhere, so The Dunalastair lost out! Speisekarte ansehen

We stopped for lunch whilst out exploring. Hotel looks really good, with plenty of folk working we counted 7 out front and at least 2 in the kitchen for about 10 customers at lunchtime. Sadly the quality and price of food did not live...up to the service. £43 for fish chips and soup and a sandwich, and a couple of non-alcoholic drinks. Wouldn’t have been so bad had the food had more of a home-cooked feel. Didn’t live up to the quality of the premises. At no stage were we asked for our details for track and trace which was extremely poor.

During these unusual times, the restaurant lacked atmosphere. The staff could have been friendlier and less snooty. The prices, £19.95 for a steak sandwich and £17.95 for a burger, seemed expensive. It was even more frustrating when they charged us for the steak instead of the burger we had ordered. The manager did not apologize and was wearing his mask below his nose. This made us feel as if we were causing a fuss. It is concerning that they may be overcharging others as well. It's advisable to check the bill carefully. Additionally, we were not informed about the mask policy, although they did collect our details.

I called in advance to inform the restaurant that we had to cancel one of our three reservations due to a scheduling conflict. Instead of accommodating us, they seemed overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. We managed to find another hotel for the night, but when we arrived for our meal, we were disappointed by the slow service. It took nearly an hour for our main course to arrive, and we sat with empty plates for 45 minutes while other guests came and went. The following day, we encountered more issues at the bar, where the manager admitted he didn't know how to make a simple drink like a gin and tonic. Additionally, our room was not restocked with toiletries during our stay. Overall, it see... Speisekarte ansehen

we received a gift of overnight in a luxury suite with a 7-course taste menu. in the week that led up to our night, we have asked us to book a time for our dinner reservation, just to say that the 7 course slip was not available because the library was closed (which was where it served the 7 course checkout experience) we were disappointed and a bit upset that the hotel had not informed us about it, but the hotel offered us a cart. we had a look at the menu online and thought there was a varied selection of food, so we decided to go further with our booking. we had a nice suite, very satisfied with it. we made ourselves ready for dinner, our table was booked for 8 o'clock. the restaurant was...

We had dinner on Tuesday. Our order was taken promptly and the starters arrived quickly. However over 50 minutes after finishing our starter, our main course had still not arrived. We asked our waitress to find out what was causing the hold up. The main...courses then arrived about 10 minutes later but my duck, which I had ordered medium, was red raw (our waitress agreed it was very rare and certainly not medium) and my husband’s chicken was sitting in a pool of water that seemed to be leaking from the soggy risotto. For dessert I ordered sticky toffee pudding and my husband the cheese plate. Well it was the worse sticky toffee pudding I have ever had. Two pieces of hard cake covered in an e...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
