Arrived early and sat upstairs. Rather cold in the restaurant but our food was excellent and freshly cooked. Waitress was nice and friendly

Simply awful. New ownership it seems. Terrible service, costly and tasteless. It was like a youth club behind the counter. The worst I've ever tasted.

Had a take away fish in chips after it changed hands. Low quality food, horrendously long wait, no basic understanding of customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

This is truly the best fish and chips I have ever had! The restaurant is now under new management and I find myself going there every day after work. I couldn't have made it better myself.

Chips not cooked most of them hard the pie was warm and the scampi was over cooked on outside under cooked in middle, this was pointed out but nothing was done and the meals where not eaten. I have been eating there before it was Fish'n'Chick'n but never again.

Popped in tonight 7pm. No other customers in the shop the chef extreme;y grumpy and argumentive with the other staff. Last time I went in I was short changed a portion of chips. Only noticed when I was getting back in the car decided the bag was a bit light. No issue getting the missing items. I seem to remember the chef giving grief to the staff then as well.

I have been to this restaurant twice and can confidently say that I will not be returning. I had to wait over 40 minutes for a simple order of fish and chips. When my meal finally arrived, the fish was soggy and soaked in grease, while the chips tasted like they were made from old potatoes and lacked freshness. It's disappointing because the restaurant is in a great location for business, but unfortunately, it's not a place I will be visiting again.

We have been coming to this restaurant on and off for nearly a decade, although not as often as we would like due to our late return from London before the restaurant closes early. The chips have always been consistently good, without experiencing any sogginess as mentioned in some reviews. However, both the fish and especially the chicken have started to become a bit too moist. Tonight, when I opened the box at home, I found that the skin of the chicken had slipped off and formed a soft puddle on top of the chips. Despite this, everything still tasted good, but it was not as enjoyable without the usual crispy, seasoned, roasted skin that I had been eagerly anticipating.

I was a regular customer years back when locally it was known as ' Fishy Taylor 's . I thought it would be nice to take my partner there for lunch, what a disappointment! The restaurant upstairs was cold, there was one other couple there and a mother with two children. The couple were just finishing their meal and there was an un-consumed plate of fish and chips in front of them. Our meal arrived but the chips were dry wrinkled up and just warm. We complained and they gave another plate of chips for the two of us but these were just the same but hotter. We made our feelings known on leaving.
