Fox and Hounds - Speisekarte

We called in as we were walking back to Appleton le Moors. The menu is very expensive but they had Mardens Pedigree on which was very tasty.

We had 2 evening meals and there was a good choice of fish and meat. It is an expensive menu but the food was excellent from the trio of fish starters and the halibut and also the Yorkshire lamb. The staff enjoy their work and are very friendly. We also had 2 excellent breakfasts with a good choice. We would have liked some fresh fruit but we really enjoyed our breakfasts.

Absolutely fabulous. We booked at short notice on a recommendation and boy were we not disappointed. The service, ambience, food and wine were exceptional. A wonderful evening and good value for money. Great menu selection and cooked to perfection with a good choice of accompanying wines. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely be back and next time to hopefully stay as well

This is a special place, its not often im really impressed but The Fox Hound deserves lots of praise. From the fantastic menu and food to the great and friendly staff i could not pick fault. The whole place is finished to a really high standard and you can see the care and love put into every detail. The outdoor area is the best I can ever remember seeing. 8 of us had lunch 4 adults and 4 children and everything was perfect. This could become my favourite pub in North Yorkshire. Booked for dinner on Sunday. The service set the scene initially. It was friendly, professional and efficient. The menu was interesting and there were some lovely specials. The cooking exceeded all our expectations, wonderful flavours, not too big and perfectly cooked. There was real attention to detail. Clearly a very talented chef in the kitchen. I am normally too full for a dessert but I couldn’t resist the raspberry soufflé and it was beautifully light. Altogether well up to the best of the best and although not cheap we felt the quality of the food and service made it excellent value for money. Can’t wait to return and perhaps stay a night or two in the lovely bedrooms.

I'd be hard put to rate this place highly enough. If there were 6 stars, I'd award them. A lovely village Inn, staff and locals were friendly and helpful. There is a fantastic garden out the back with comfy chairs surrounded by well maintained flowers, shrubs, and trees. Also, a large field adjoining the car park just right for dogs to play on. We stopped for lunch and had a fishfinger sandwich and the Lamb Harissa. Both were absolutely delicious, and the fish fingers were obviously homemade and very generous in the portions. The Lamb was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious as well. Rounded off with some fine local ales. All in all, it was a really pleasant experience all round and...

We came here for my wife’s birthday and opted for the Ala carte menu. Lovely little pub, really clean and friendly staff. We didn’t look at the menu before we booked so was shocked when staff brought it to the table. The menu didn’t reflect a country pub/Inn and was pretentious and massively overpriced. There was a note at the bottom of the menu about how the chef likes to serve the food as intended, which was a red flag. When the food arrived it did taste nice enough but there was practically nothing there. We decided not to have dessert as we feared we would need to remortgage! A country pub should be about rustic, honest, wholesome food and should feel like the next step up from home. I h... Speisekarte ansehen
