"we wanted to go to the ducal square in charleville and it was raining, we tried to park us not too far. We landed forest avenue, we get off the car and right next to this famous pepper salt restaurant. It was just noon, we asked a gentleman in front of the door if we could look at the menu and as it looked good, we came back. the waiter was very smiling, nice, we he explained the operation of the restaurant and the menus are directly on the tables. We took a local aperitif and he brought us a verrine made of cucumber: excellent. I chose an egg in the inlet hull (cooked to point) with beurred bread wets with ham from the ardennes on and next to the rocket, very good. In the dish I took the fish of the day (it's all done on the day because they don't have a frozen, everything's fresh): I had some merlu with a martini sauce and dry ink with small vegetables and a pdt in the oven, very rich and good. My sisters chose the duck-flying (homemade) and she was, in their words, excellent. Then they took a dessert: one of the lost bread with homemade salted butter caramel and the other of the pheasant with fruits and a little rum: very good. We have been well served and welcomed so we will certainly return there."
