My Starter was overdone but overall a good experience

Lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The scallops were excellent. However, the cheese toastie with lobster, prawn, and crab was a bit too heavy for my taste.

Sat at table for nearly 30 minutes before drink order was even taken despite multiple attempts. Ordered the fruit de mer platter which took OVER one hour to prepare raw seafood. To top it off, it wasnt even busy! Speisekarte ansehen

A table outside Sheekey’s on a hot day is just bliss, and eating seafood even better. Whilst we enjoyed our lunch, the sea bass was a little dry and disappointing. We had to ask for our bottle of wine whilst we were eating our starters, and then throughout we poured it ourselves not what one would expect for this calibre of restaurant.

Sheekey’s is an old favourite, so we know it well and love it through and through. It was, however, the first time the service has been off point our waiter had the air of being uninterested and slightly superior almost to the point of patronising. He certainly didn’t handle my confusion over the different menus inside (where we normally eat) and outside, and kind of made me look stupid in front of our friends! Food was, as always, superb!

We were recommended to visit this restaurant for its seafood and definitely not disappointed. I had the Fruit de Mer, which was absolutely fantastic and, I would say, all British shell fish. My wife had oysters followed by the fish pie also excellent but unable to finish! We sat outside and people watched, great if that's what you like although there is plenty of indoor seating. The staff were excellent friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. I've knocked off one star for value as although the food was very reasonably priced considering the restaurant is in the heart of London's theatre land, the extensive wine list was expensive.
