"I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Three friends and I went there for a Christmas night out, but the service was terrible. We were barely acknowledged and had to constantly chase the staff to take our order and throughout the meal. Despite it being quiet with only one other table of 8 people, the service was still poor. The food was mediocre, cold, and greasy, requiring us to ask for it to be reheated. The staff were unfriendly and overall it was a big letdown. I would not recommend this place."

We ate an excellent meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The lamb kebabs were perfect, as was the chicken dish. Large portions and generally faultless.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, but the food could have been improved. The calamari was oily and tough, while the moussaka, although tasty, was also very greasy. I didn't particularly enjoy the excess orange oil in the dish.

We had a lovely meal here. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were warned that portion sizes were large and they were! Very tasty food and great service in this local, independent restaurant. Reasonably priced anď we would come again.

We went to celebrate Navy Passing out. It was perfect. From booking they were so helpful, 11 in the party every part of the meal was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. Quality of food and service can not be faulted. They chose a selection of starters for use and mains were pre chosen. The Baklava was amazing.

Lovely restaurant just off the main drag at The Barbican, so not affected by the street noise. Comfortable clean. Great menu service. The food is outstanding the portions are generous, also great wine drinks. The service is excellent, staff know the menu advised us on a few things. All round great evening ...Happy Customers

The atmosphere is very nice, tucked away on the Barbican you walk into a old building with lots of character. Service was good, quick, no complaints with that whatsoever. Food was not great. Very dry meat and not a great flavour. Not enough bread with the hummus starter and just overall disappointed. Unfortunately, wouldn’t go back.

Located off a steep little street near the Barbican, this hidden gem of a restaurant is worth a visit. Make sure to book in advance due to its small size. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The food is delicious and served in generous portions. If the menu had more options, this would be a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in Plymouth.

We had a lovely romantic dinner, we had the ottoman dip selection, a bottle of their Turkish red (exquisite btw), a few plates of meze. In all, we spent about 3 and a half hours eating, drinking and relaxing. The atmosphere was laid back, the waiter was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Their taramasalata is to die for! What an absolutely beautiful authentic restaurant. Thank you so much for our lovely experience I cannot recommend enough! Hoping to be back again soon

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
