"La Coop is a regional cooperative shop selling Beaufort products, pleasantly situated at the top end of the Jardin de Luxembourg. Almost by accident (there is a notice in the window) you will find a modern cellar where you can purchase a tasting menu from a selection of 10 regional cheeses (mostly various Tomme, Reblochon and, of course, winter and summer Beaufort varities). A 'smart card' system provides self-service access to wine - either 5 euros (glass) or 3 euros (half glass) from a selection of 10 regional wines. You can always get more credit on the smart card at the till upstairs. As a lunch, the selection of four cheeses was more than sufficient - served tastefully on a slate plate and garnished with rocket and walnuts. You can opt for 2, 3 or 4 cheeses priced accordingly. As AOC cheeses these were top quality. Some of the wines were a little harsh although they complemented the cheeses. This is a little gem, somewhat unusual and reasonably priced. If you are in Paris for a few days La Coop offers a fun alternative to the traditional dining experience."

We stopped in as part of a walking tour and the gentlemen behind the counter was great! So nice and patient. We had cheese - nice big serving sizes, and delicious wine in the really great cellar below. Very cool concept. See you again!

Take the time to take the guided tour of the cellars and tasting, you will not be disappointed. and the guide is very nice. before going through the store or you can bring back a little gustative memory, many products would deserve to be vacuum cleaners, easier to carry.
