"If you are American, do not get excited. This is a grilled food place, not an American Barbeque place, despite the cafeteria style presentation of the food. That being said, this has a typical €10 lunch that is decent, and has a greater selection for each course than I have seen at any other restaurant. Unlike every other restaurant that I have been to in Italy, you are not served at a table in this one. You get a tray, move along the counter selecting your choices, pay, and then seat yourself. There are ample selectons for the first (primi) and second (secondo) course, as well as the side dish (contourni). The rolls are very good. They have a few dessert selections--I had cheesecake with berries once and apple pie (not really) another time. There is also a place where you can choose a think hunk of beef, sausage, or other kind of meat and have them grill it on the spot for you. I do not know how much those premium choices cost. I have considered a big steak, but have always settled for the lunch. All in all, good value for the money and well worth a lunch if you are passing by."

"We have been eating regularly at Osteria da Peppone not only because it's our local Osteria but because of the consistent, excellent quality of the food and the wine. Peppone Patrizia are a kind, caring and genuine couple who love to cook and entertain and this is all done with true professionalism. There are no menus but you can generally eat either meat, fish or the speciality of the house, Baccala. All the food is cooked with the freshest ingredients and with great flair by Peppone himself. In the Winter it is great to sit in the cosy dining room with roaring log fire and eat course after course of delicious, warming dishes, some even cooked on the log fire itself and then in Summer they have a beautiful terrace to enjoy plate after plate of fresh seafood. There are lots of delicious wines to choose from and Peppone can recommend the perfect wine to match your dishes. Make sure you go hungry as you won't be able to resist eating the full menu and always finished with the delicious Bocconotti handmade by Patrizia."

"We made a last minute booking at Cottabo and we’re very pleasantly surprised. For years we are visiting Lanciano and this place is a gem. Started in COVID times they have established themselves as far as we are concerned. Great food. Clearly a cut above the rest in terms of preparation and design. Good and friendly service and you have to experience the beautifully restored vaulted interior. Highly recommend"

"É la seconda volta che veniamo in questo ristorante, questa Sera é stata una piacevole riconferma. Abbiamo optato per gli antipasti crudi, carpaccio di Angus,carpaccio di vitello e tartare di manzo, in più il classico tagliere di salumi e formaggi firmato 'ferramenta ' che non puó mancare. Tutto ottimo, buono anche il dolce ,tiramisú di pan di stelle.. Il servizio e I tempi sono stati discreti giustificati dalla serata di sabato Sera in quanto il locale era pieno. Unica pecca, abbiamo preso una bottiglia di Barolo Ed abbiamo gentilmente chiesto un decanter in quanto il vino aveva bisogno di ossigenare, la cameriera Alla nostra richiesta prima ha chiesto cosa fosse un decanter, dopo averle spiegato ció.. ci é stato detto che il locale non ne era dotato.. peccato perché con una carta dei vini Così Ben fornita e ricercata.. il decanter non deve mancare Mai! Nonostante ció torneremo sicuramente!"
