La Courtine - Speisekarte

Evening meet-up with friends. Lovely friendly service. Pizzas were the main business of the night and very good they were too. Nice and relaxed in good ambient surroundings.

Food was alright if somewhat pricey. 5€ for a bottle of water is a neat way of spicing the tab. Service was terrible. The waitress must hate her job. On the bright side; the backdoor garden was nice!

Took over 15 minutes to order. No one even stopped by to offer water or wine. We had to ask for some to pay attention to us even though we were seated inside the small restaurant and they continually had to walk by us. After we ordered, it took no less than another 40 minutes to receive our pizza. Food was very good though.

My first visit to carcassonne and the cite, had researched before I came and it didn't disappoint. Really reasonably priced, 2 pizzas and French fries, duo creme brûlée which was to die for, a beer, glass of wine and bottle water 52 euro. Would recommend, lovely setting in the garden through the back. Staff were very friendly and attentive despite our non existing French.!

Found this place by accident while looking to lunch away from under the strong sun - I'm an easily sunburnt Scot. Was lead thru to the rear to a lovely secluded and tree shaded courtyard, and enjoyed a cool beer with a very tasty omelette, served very timeously by polite and efficient serving staff. It's nice to get away from the crowds sometimes, and here was the very place to do just that.

Right in a touristy packed square. Not the best menus of the day but we wanted a pizza and salad. My wife's goats cheese salad pizza was delicious and she throughly enjoyed it. My pizza was nice but the ham topping was cheap meat. The girl serving us was was very poor. No interest in working there,unhelpful and slow. Another woman who appeared to own the place much nicer and efficient. But if a hit and a miss for us but nice atmospheric square

Entrance is on the "square" where several other restaurants have many, many tables. However, while La Courtine has a couple of tables on the "square", if you go inside, and pass through, they have a wonderful dining area, under an arbor cover. This provides a relaxing, refreshing place for lunch, away from the noise and hustle of the busy street (and the heat of the sun). We had their pizza (margherita and serrano), which was delicious. We had the beer that is locally brewed, also very enjoyable.

The only plus of the place is the quiet and beautiful courtyard.The rest was all very disappointing: as a family with children, we picked the menu du jour (steak and fries) and some pizzas. The steak was ok but we had to leave the fries as they were so greasy and soft. The pizzas were heavy.Service was not great, had to ask for water and the meals a couple of times despite not been overly busy. It would also have been lovely to have a smile from the staff at any point between entering and leaving the restaurant.

We chose this restaurant as it catered for gluten free but would not recommend it. The location is wonderful on the square with a tranquil court yard out the back. The waiter was friendly with good English. We were one of the first tables to be seated & were informed they only had 1 gluten free pizza base, no more were being delivered today. Not a great start as we are 2 GF out of 4 but we decided to stay. In general the food lacked favour & was just a bit blah. So disappointed. Out of 5 pizza's my brother (not gluten free) had on this holiday La Courtine rated no 5. In hindsight should have chosen a different restaurant & got a lovely fresh salad.
