The pizza have a great taste and there are good selection. The opening hours are great as it is open until late. The service could be sharpen as it is quite slow

We needed somewhere for people at short notice so we booked it. After eating there, we’d certainly recommend it; great pizzas and interesting dishes and also staff with a good sense of humour. Go!

Our taxi driver recommended this for a late night pizza run and it was hidden from plain site during the day. But a cool winding staircase down into a cave like atmosphere opened up a cool dining experience. The pizza and pasta were delightful as...was the gentle dog laying next to the bar. Our waitress was so pleasant and we were happy we found this place. Our kids ate their again the next day.

The best garlic bread anywhere. I’ve not had better in Rome, Paris, London,... The pizza is very good too. Full of character and very charming service. The mystery is that it is often quiet difficult to find the entrance and all the tourists go...to the obvious outdoors places, I suppose. Shouldn’t complain, it means there is nearly always a table. : I travel across the Alps every year (for years) and this is the only restaurant I always return to...

We visited as part of a ski trip to Chamonix and each had a pizza and a few drinks. The quality of food was excellent and not over priced that is common place in Chamonix. I didn’t give stars purely because the service was...slow. It’s a smallish restaurant and so only had a couple of servers working which for how busy it was, was clearly not enough. That said however the food certainly made up for the service which may otherwise on a different day make this a certain star experience.

While walking through the town of Chamonix we realized we needed dinner reservations that night. When we saw the wait staff getting the patio open for lunch we took a peek inside and looked at the menu. Definitely something for everyone! Reservations were made and...we had a very nice table. Two of us ordered from the prix fixe menu and each had onion soup with beef stew (fantastic and one had a truly remarkable salad with a pork entree. Desserts were good too. Service was very nice and we had a very good evening.

This could be an amazing restaurant, food is great and decor cute BUT the service is some of the worst i have come across. The restaurant is situated on main road and easily missed, a little door next to the Chinese restaurant leads you down...a stair case to a warm and welcoming bar and restaurant with booths in a historic cave setting. Lovely. We were seated straight away, left mins with no menus. I caught the waitresses eye and asked for the menus. They were then given to us. We were then left again for a long period of time the restaurant was by no means full, busy but not full. This is chamonix, so nothing comes cheap, yet Le Caveau manages to be one of the affordable regular spots we have come to love over the years, consistently good. If you cannot find it, look for reviews that mention the restaurant dog ..he is a...feature of the place whose presence in bodily form (a good boy laying on the floor) greets you as you as you finish coming down the stairs to this underground ex wine cellar, the warmth, operation of the stone pizza oven validates you made a good choice. Its a long thin underground delight, that stays open late (one of the few) with booths on either side, a lot of walking for the staff. Be patient, be friendly, your pizza will be worth it, ..incident...
