"Head to Montmartre for dinner and, unfortunately, you will find mediocre restaurants and other restaurants offering mediocre menus very similar to unreasonable prices. It's a tourist trap, after all. So it is worth hiding in the side streets in the hope of finding something a little more interesting - that's exactly what we did on the New Year's Day, when a large number of restaurants away from the tourist areas are closed. From the outside, it looks like a really nice old restaurant where one would expect that mom runs the counter and her adult children serve and cook. Come in and it looks like Granny's living room. other critics mentioned the decor; my own opinion is that there is a fine border between the charming vintage and the dirty, and unfortunately this place falls on the wrong side. I felt that this place needed a good cleaning and a little tlc. food is standard fayre - think of burgundy beef, duck confit, cassoulet and others. I didn't try the homemade foie gras - we had a hearty lunch and wanted only two dishes - as if it had been done well, I might have assigned an extra star. But what we had was a fairly decent food at a decent price. and the restaurant became a subject of discussion after dinner later in the evening (I doubt that the other restaurants in the area provided a lot of it). and although I can understand that some are discarded by the state of the dining room, we both survived the meal, so I can only assume that the hygiene of the kitchen is of a better level. So, it's worth the detour if you want to escape the tourist places in the area. You could do much worse at more costs."
