"We use your takeaway delivery service about twice a year, normally our experience is 5 star all the way, however last night we found the food below the normal standard, the Chicken tasted old and re-heated, and the Korma sauce/Gravy was watery and lacking taste, rice however was good, and delivery driver friendly, I hope this is just a one off bad night, food was always delightful from here, makes me wonder if the restaurant has new owners? "Tolles Restaurant und ganz tolles Essen! Leider wurden wir 2 Pers)an einen Tisch gesetzt ,wo schon 2 ,uns fremde Personen saßen.Es waren allerdings auch noch genug freie Tische frei! Auf Bitten von uns durften wir uns dann umsetzten ! Wir hätten es gut gefunden wenn man uns vorher gefragt hätte ob wir in Gesellschaft sitzen möchten! Wir hatten beide Sushi welches wirklich sehr sehr lecker war! Leider bekommen wir erst Sojasauce auf Nachfrage und auch unser 2. Glas Wein wurde vergessen!Das Dessert für 16€ beinhaltete ein Klacks Softeis mit fertige Sprühsahne darauf! Bekommt man an jeder Ecke für 4,50€ wesentlich besser! Auch war es sehr kühl im Restaurant Sodas wir und dann an die Bar begeben haben und dort sehr leckere Cocktail von einem sehr netten Barkeeper serviert bekommen haben!"

"invited by my friend and a good one. decorated to fine taste and was welcomed friendly and professional. we ordered drinks with free tee water in nice cold bottle we had the early bird menu where there was a nice selection to choose from. we had both followed the duck potterine by steak and I had butternut risotto, boiled to perfection the risotto was delicious. we were tried to have a dessert of a small chocolate pot and ice. the ambiente was perfect. so from their catching up with a friend or on a date or celebrating a birthday I would highly recommend this place. clean and 5"

"We chose East because it was one of the few places open on a Monday that wasn't in lockdown. When we first arrived, I wasn't best impressed with the sign, and thought we were heading into your bog standard traditional English/Cantonese restaurant. However, once we board the restaurant, everything was wonderful. The food was largely cooked from scratch, and every dish was a joy."

"During my overnight stay, I came across a charming restaurant tucked away in a small alleyway. The warm and welcoming atmosphere drew me in, and I was promptly seated and served a drink. The menu looked appealing, so I placed my order and was impressed by the quick and efficient service. Despite the busy crowd, the restaurant had a nice vibe. The food was delicious and fresh, especially the meatball main dish. My only suggestion would be to make the meatballs slightly bigger and add a bit more seasoning. Overall, a great dining experience."

"This is my 3rd visit to The Admiral Wells and it has never failed to disappoint. I have Coeliac's Disease and their menu has plenty of options rather than the usual one or two. The serving staff are very knowledgeable and the food is consistently fantastic. It's always a good sign when the kitchen has a window that is viewable by the public. There is a lovely garden and a fantastic play area for kids. In the past, I've always been in good weather and have been able to sit in the garden while the kids play but the weather wasn't so good this time. However, I could still supervise them just as well from my table in the conservatory. Highly recommended!"

"a sweet little pub. I had my disabled daughter with me, which I got in most huts. this was easily accessible directly into the bar area where we could eat. we went on a Sunday, so we had a Sunday lunch menu, which was perfect for us and they also had meat free options. the food was delicious and was eaten all, my only critique was the roasted pasnips needed longer in many, but not the less I ate them than they tastefully his just personal preference. it was a wet day, so felt very cozy inside and perfect to finish our day before we went to the house. we will definitely give them another visit."

"We hadn 't been here for many years and have been reluctant to try it more recently since it changed hands, and we 'd heard some devious reviews. However, we decided to try it for an anniversary meal, close to home. Pleased we didn 't listen to the reviews. The food was lovely, decent portions and very tasty. The service was excellent. We hate to be rushed, so when we finished our starter (a large antipasti sharing platter! we needed a bit of a breather and so asked for some time. We were listened to and given a decent break between courses. Everything we asked for was provided promptly and staff were all very friendly. We even got a surprise 'happy anniversary ' dessert with a candle, which was a lovely thoughtful touch. A couple of small things could have improved the experience a little. The atmosphere was lacking, but I this was largely as a result of so few people being there. Sadly, I think people have listened to the reviews, so for a Saturday night, it was dead. This isn 't the restaurant 's fault though. The background music wasn 't quite right for a Saturday evening in 'Italy '. And the toilets are passed their best and need to be better maintained, and stocked with toilet paper. We 'd really like to see this local business do well and hope they 'll work on the things that can be fairly easily improved and that local people will return here. We really enjoyed our first child-free meal out for many weeks and will return perhaps for a lunchtime treat with the children in the coming weeks."

"We had an early booking for a birthday as we had 3 young kids. We were 7 adults. The food was plentiful, filling and very tasty. However, the service was awful. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant, but it still took over 10 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink and it was a further 18 minutes before the drinks arrived. We had to chase the waiter to take our food order. Two other tables, who arrived after us were served before us. When the food did finally arrive it was 1 person at a time, the first order was also wrong. In all it took over 10 minutes for all the food to be served and, to top it all, the rice was cold."

"Unfortunately our review isnt in favour of a return visit. On arrival, once seated, we were informed it was cash only which was a real inconvenience as the nearest cashpoint was right down near Tesco however luckily a few of our party had cash. I questioned why the booking contact wasnt called as it would have been common courtesy to let us know prior to our arrival and was told rather abruptly to speak to the Manager if I have any questions. Rude! However due to the time and wanting to stay out of the cold we opted to stay with the men braving the cold to get more cash. We were a party of 12. Big mistake....The restaurant was freezing cold resulting in lots of diners eating with their outdoor coats on part way through! It didnt help that every time a party of people left, the outer door was left open allowing further cold air into the porch and on into the restaurant. Coke was flat, although this was changed on request and the decor was flat to match! Very dated! The music would have been nice however it was far too loud, sounding tinny and drowning out conversation. Several diners asked for it to be turned down on more than one occasion. The only good thing was the food. Despite the long wait, it was very nice meat on the skewers. Its a shame as we had been previously pre covid) and it was a lot nicer. So it is at this end we shall not be returning."

"During my 9-day stay in Peterborough, this pub became my favorite spot for food. The 3 small dishes for £15 were fantastic value. I tried them three times and nearly made my way through half of the options. My top pick was the burrata with white bean salad, which I ordered every time. The other two dishes I switched up with each visit: small tacos with pulled pork and mushrooms, and all three variations of tater tots (my favorite was with pulled meat and Buffalo sauce, as well as with chicken and mozzarella). The food was consistently well-prepared and served promptly. This pub is a traditional, rustic establishment with cozy indoor and outdoor seating. They usually have 4 cask ales available, and I frequently went for the Adnams Ghost Ship. They also offer a variety of keg beers and lagers. The service was friendly and efficient. Despite being a popular spot with locals, I always managed to find a seat outside, overlooking Guildhall and Cathedral Square. It's a great choice for high-quality pub food in Peterborough."

"Turned up 10 mins before the kitchen was closing in the evening, but Olivia behind the bar kindly took our order and brought our food to our table what seemed like only a moment! We ate Gammon,egg and chips,served with the freshest ingredients and accompanied with tasty garden peas. Lovely homely pub atmosphere, just the right balance and we drank a refreshing pint with dinner. The chef had cooked and presented the dish on warmed plated as if it was his first serving of the day! Over all a splendid occasion that saved our weary souls after a long day of travelling. Thank you all for the friendly and welcoming atmosphere."

"We decided on a last minute drive out on a beautiful evening for dinner and visited for the first time. The setting is beautiful and there was a good vibe on the terraces. We seated on the lower terrace to be near to the river. A friendly waitress said she’d be back to take drinks orders and bring a menu. After waiting 15 minutes she returned with an apology saying they were busy … only because the next table was being served did we prompt the need for Henie’s. We placed our drinks order. We waited and waited in the hope of placing a food order and eventually had to draw the attention of another male staff member .. he didn’t have his note pad.. was going to fetch it but said he’d remember the order and would get it in for us. We enjoyed the setting and there was a lot of activity on the water making it an enjoyable experience. However … after 40 minutes of waiting we were concerned our order had been forgotten. The upper terraces seemed to be receiving their food more quickly and we were concerned we had been forgotten. On 2 further occasions we asked staff if the food was on its way who apologised saying it would arrive ‘soon’. In the end we had waited an hour and the food finally arrived. We were very hungry by this point. Again the staff apologised. It was such a shame the delay tarnished the evening as the setting is beautiful. It would have been nice to have had our expectations managed from the outset but this didn’t happen. There was no checking-in with us at any point … we had to keep asking … menu, drink order, food order and looking for staff. Even during and after the meal we weren’t asked if we wanted to order another drink or desert. Such a shame as the friendliness of staff is there but the ‘customer service’ approach needs attention … maybe it is because we sat on the lower terrace?"

"I booked the restaurant for my birthday. A nice cosy restaurant, with great atmosphere and service. Straight away Damian, who’s in charge of the restaurant , made us feel welcomed! He was so polite and kind, made us feel completely at ease. His communication was out of this world- would highly recommend. He is simply outstanding and made us feel very special and enhanced our entire birthday night experience. The food was absolutely incredible! When each meal arrived at our table, it was like it was plated by an artist, each plate was a work of art! I honestly can’t think of one little thing wrong. The food was outstanding. We had the course menu which was incredible. Thank you so much for a marvellous and mindblowing experience! Would love to come back again soon"

"We visited Turtle Bay in Peterborough tonight for a special occasion and it was a complete disappointment from start to finish. When we arrived we were told to head to the bar, we were stood there for 10 mins and no one looked at us to serve us. When our table was ready, we were given two circle tables for 6 completely anti social and hard to talk. This was smoothed over by a bottle of Prosecco thank you. When our starters came, 2 were forgotten about and you could clearly see the chef having an issue with the fact he hadn’t made two of our starters….so half of us had finished our starters before others had theirs. When mains came, we asked for knife and forks, they took so long to come our meals were cold at this stage it was pointless sending them back to be reheated. The above made worse by the fact we were sat right in a busy walk way, right next to the restaurant door that was kept open 90% of the time we were in there. Not only this, but one main came wrong and the Mac and cheese had zero sauce and was ultimately just cooked pasta. A glass of water and a portion of chips as a side for the main was also forgotten. The other (warm) food was great, and cocktails too. When we had the bill delivered, there was a service charge that we took off but I don’t think this even justified the poor experience we had. We are never the type of people to complain, but our experience was more than bad. Won’t be returning."
