Sanctum On The Green

No atmosphere. Very disappointing. Will not be returning. Food was tasty but, overall expensive for what it was.

The reservation was canceled without any notice. We only found out upon arrival that there was a private event scheduled for 3 PM. Very disappointing.

Couldn’t fault this restaurant, the staff were so friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and reasonably priced, cocktails were amazing, and surroundings beautiful. We will be back! Speisekarte ansehen

Went to sanctum on the green again loved the food as usual. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the menu choice just 3 starters and 3 mains. If it was a special offer fixed price menu I may understand however it wasn't. Apparently the chef was expriementing and trying new things. I couldnt select a starter and when i asked if they could do anything else, they said NO. Also the email confirmation had the wrong postcode in there which was a real pain! I may go back!

The restaurant was nearly empty, resulting in a lack of atmosphere. However, the service was very friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The prawns I had for starters were quite bland. The other dishes were acceptable, but nothing memorable. We were also caught off guard when we were informed that the kitchen closed at 9 PM, which meant we needed to place our orders quickly. Overall, I probably wouldn’t rush back, as it feels like the restaurant primarily caters to hotel guests.

We booked dinner through a Secret Escapes offer. The food was good, and the service was efficient. However, breakfast the next morning was quite disappointing. I ordered poached eggs on toast, which consisted of a slice of toast with an egg and half a tomato—no additional toast was available. When I went to get some fruit, the two oranges were tough, and the bananas were black. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she took away the fruit but didn’t replace it with anything fresh. Very sadly Sanctum has lost its spark. For such an amazing venue, as I've been there many times before, there was just no atmosphere. And even though it was a Saturday night it was empty. Then once we asked for menus, we were told there was no fish of the day, no prawns/shrimps which were in 3 dishes, all rocket would be replaced with watercress and finally the rump steak was withdrawn too. We had ordered single g&ts that came half filled, flat and were rather expensive. So it didn't take long for us to decide not stay for dinner after all. lol in all a very disappointing experience.

This place looks great, fabulously renovated, the food tastes great the atmosphere is conducive to a romantic night out, but its such a shame that the overall service does not match... Perhaps this is the inexperience of the chef he cooks great food, but the entire experience needs to be memorable for all aspects, not just the food. The staff were friendly enough, but scruffy attention to detail was somewhat lacking dirty glasses side plates, twice they brought us someone's dinner! I really hope that the team can sharpen up on service, cos then this place would really be worth recommending.

absolutely frightening. what was an incredible restaurant and venue in years that have gone from us now on about terrible. Although it was Sunday afternoon, there was only one other table and one waitress and one barman. waiting for our appetizers was an hour and then the waiting time for the net was another hour. the starters were at best average and the net ( kept on cold plates) were completely unacceptable. we went to that point. I offered to pay for the drinks, but the staff was so embarrassing that they didn't let me pay. I don't blame the staff, they tried. I blame the administration. Given the lack of other diners, I don't think I'm alone with this view. Speisekarte ansehen
