"we visited the manor of groves to meet with friends who had not seen one because and we wanted to pick up tee in the afternoon. two of us arrived first and we said that our reservation was booked for lunch and not for the afternoon tee, although I insisted that I had an email confirmation for the afternoon tea. the waiter was happy to arrange something so we could have the afternoon. a coworker spoke to us very rude when we tried to explain what had happened, he told us well when they listen and stop talking about it. we were then asked to sit in the reception until they sorted something. danial (which seemed like the manager) came to us and apologized for the confusion and said he would sort it for us and make sure that we did not have afternoon tea in the midday zone where they tried to set us up. he apologised and brought us to our table. we finally sat after a moment and the two in the afternoon stood out immediately. we were then offered a free drink, each one that was a beautiful geste. the waitress asked us then, wanting them any drinks and the only option was tee or coffee, I thought we actually had options of different tees. we had a teekanne between three and the other person had coffee. it was served in what like a cheap tinted teekanne and was a tee bag not tee leaves. I didn't cost the tea very much. a teetasse was very dirty and we had some water and one of the glasses had a lipstick spot on it, it was quite clean out of the. the content of the afternoon was ok, the sandwiches were nice and standard as they would get to most places. the skorn were cold and I would expect that they are at least some warm and for those desserts they were okay, a good sort. As soon as we have received our afternoon tea and drinks, it felt as if the entire staff had disappeared, we had to ask for more tea and milk and if we wanted to pay, one of us had to stand up and go to the reception to find someone and it seemed like the others who did. we also wanted our left overs to be put in boxes to take home so the waiters did that for us and they came back with what like Takeaway boxes from a Chinese restaurant and the lid didn't even fit. I felt as if the quality of the afternoon was not standard and the small details that make the experience were not there. Unfortunately after the experience we had, we will not return."

I had deliberately asked on the morning to put a candle in my daughter desert for her birthday. the receptor said she had put a note on my reservation. unfortunately it didn't happen. very upset as I expected.

The Afternoon Tea was average. The choice of sandwiches/savouries was limited and the cake selection disappointing. I would also suggest the china used could be more attractive as it was more canteen than hotel.

as Saturday night, the ambient noise in the restaurant was very loud, because there was a big table of men who had a sister talk. at certain times I had to scream over the table to make myself heard of my guest. it does not help that the area is very strong without furniture to enjoy the noise that allows the noise to be made louder.

the food was good: the excellent scenes, the cake so, the service was decent. I think it could have been so much better. how about real tea and coffee tea bags and brewed. beautiful old china tassen against commercial tassen and teller. it is a beautiful environment, a great place for a high time, but felt as by afternoon tee was just an add on.
