"A magnificent place, an institution that we had to discover. Coming as a group of 3 from the great south, we are going there on Saturday May 29 around 4:30 p.m., we are on the weekend and we are going there full of enthusiasm and impatience. Enchanted by the place and the decor, we enter an establishment steeped in history with a little emotion. We unfortunately met a pretentious and unfriendly little waiter who seemed to be bothered perhaps by my wife's small backpack, we opted for waffles and tea. The tea is magnificent, the waffle is disappointing. My wife who is Anglo French goes to the toilet... no paper, a poor English girl is there, lost not knowing who to turn to and it's my wife who will help her... meh when we have to staff like this little head waiter who acts superior and treats customers like losers (my wife is a teacher, I am a retired executive, our friend is a doctor) so we have bilingual waiters and paper in the toilets, without take into account that during installation we should systematically inform customers that the card is on the small QR code on the table instead of treating them like idiots for not knowing it. Last but not least, the incredible thing. lack of politeness: barely have you finished when the table is cleared for you and the bill is brought to you in the purest style: “get lost quickly. It's really inelegant. Very negative assessment despite a place which seems to deserve much better than this conceit and this lack of courtesy of a very poor quality. A pretty container served by uninviting people. If I come back to Lille I will not set foot in this establishment whose reputation seems well above what it deserves."

Beautiful pastry, listed as a historic monument. You can taste the famous Meert waffle, many accomodations. Pastry is also interesting, unsweetened and well done.
