"This is a real neighbourhood gem. Priced very competitively for its position on Motcombe Street, the menu is varied, priced extremely keenly and changed very frequently. The food is delicious with speedy and attentive service. The wine list sports some very decent examples at a very fair price. Sunday lunch is available for two for under £30 and this too is stunningly good value and exceptionally tasty when we tried it. We are frequent but irregular diners at Motcombes and will continue to be. Its a lovely cosy place and the downstairs dining room (weekdays only) is particularly impressive."

I recieved a flyer recommending the Oysters and the Grouse (with a robust red wine). I was not disappointed!? My friend had the Special being Lobster Thermidore and Fries. She was not disappointed. Highly recommended.

We have been regulars at this restaurant for many years, mainly because it's not noisy and the food is consistent with good, unobtrusive service. The Friday night filet mignonette special is good value except that the filet seems to get smaller and smaller!

Had not visited Motcombs for quite some time. The good news is that little had changed! A varied menu, well priced wines, well presented, tasty food, good waiter service and in the bar, the downstairs restaurant being closed on a quiet Monday night a convivial atmosphere. The tables were too near each other. However, this is close to being a neighbourhood gem.

Picked this restaurant at random from the internet as needed somewhere to meet up with friends staying near Harrods. We were not disappointed, food and staff were very good, and the prices were very reasonable. We liked the ambience of the downstairs restaurant where we ate, the staff were attentive and patient with our rather at times boisterous party. Would definitely return.

We love Motcombs, we celebrated our wedding lunch here 10years ago! The place is lovely, the food is delicious and its location is really nice.We spent a perfect dinner. We could not desire anything better. Just 2 objections: 1) when we arrived was like they did not know about our reservation 2) they did not apply the 50% off steaks on friday. By the way we had a really special and pleasant night
