The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was cooked amazingly and the portions were of a good size

The perfect place to eat friendly, welcoming host staff, amazing choice of delicious food, great beer and a lovely view. Huge portions and very reasonable prices.

The menu at this restaurant is great. I really enjoyed the salmon dish, while my husband had the curry. It is a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area. Speisekarte ansehen

The staff at this restaurant is excellent, providing friendly and efficient service in a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, and I appreciated that they serve food until 9pm on Sunday evenings. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Dined here while staying at nearby Ushaw Historic House. Lovely local pub with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Menu was comprehensive, and our meal was excellent, with generous portions at very reasonable prices. Would certainly recommend a visit.

This was our first visit at this pub, and enjoyed it very much. The meals were excellent, lovely and fresh , meals ordered were Mince and dumplings, and cornbeef pie, good sized portions and very tasty. Service was quick, and staff very friendly, will certainly return. Speisekarte ansehen

This place is pure class. Staff are really friendly and the service was faultless. The food is brilliant. I had ribs, blade of beef and chocolate fudge cake. The beef was insanely good as was the mash, veg and gravy.. All cooked to perfection. Shame we aren’t local as I’d never need to cook again.

What a surprise to find super quality inn, the food was excellent, service good and staff helpful and courteous. Didn't think places like this still existed. Ordered fish and chips (fish was larger than the plate), and the batter done to perfection !!! Then came the bill another surprise and a 10% off voucher from Ushaw historic chapels made this an auto visit next time we are this way

I've always liked this place, but it's not quite the reliable favourite that it used to be. Large portions but prices have increased significantly and the dishes I've had most recently are lacking taste and quality, especially compared to before. £3.40 for a small bottle of Fanta is a bit strong, also. Hopefully, it can regain it's mojo, as it's a good location with friendly and helpful staff. Speisekarte ansehen
