Noak SE4 - Speisekarte

Brilliant for a Saturday lunch, with nice food, beer, coffee and reading the papers.

Went to Noak for the Japanese pop up. Unfortunately the pop up wasn't on, but the pizza, wine and service were first class. Would recommend.

Superb cooking, creative and different. Small menu and wine list but lovely. Desserts are amazing! Very good service and value- very lucky to live nearby.

Had a lovely Valentine's Day meal here. The tasting menu was divine and made it feel special. The service was great too. Nice to have somewhere local that does good food.

Overall, the food looked nice but my dish was disappointing. My eggs were overcooked but my friend's were perfect, and there was little thought put into the presentation of my dish, yet the others were a lot nicer. I think if you choose right, you are fine! However it isn't too difficult to cook poached eggs correctly. Maybe I'll give them another chance.

We went to try the Fowl Mouths pop up. The food was phenomenal. Sadly the service from the Noak staff wasn't great. We were seated and given menus by one member of staff and then a different one came to take our order and it was only then that they decided to tell us that certain menu items were no longer available. We ordered a bottle of white wine that had not been refrigerated only stuck in an ice bucket once we'd ordered it. As a result it was warm. We did tell the staff but all they did was put more ice in the ice bucket.

The service was exceptionally bad, I have emailed the restaurant directly, however I have yet to have a response. The service was so poor we all left really disappointed in what was to be a nice afternoon out. The basics like menus, salt, pepper, general check in for more coffees etc. were not done. We had to ask for everything a couple of times. After we ate our dishes were on the table for over an hour without anyone clearing them away. We never asked if we would like another coffee, dessert or how was the food. There was max 5 tables when we were there and 3 waiting staff. Was really shocking.

We arrived on a busy Saturday so was glad I had booked a table in advance. Whilst we ordered our food and drinks quite quickly it took over 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and it then took over an hour for our food to arrive. We were given no warning that there would be an extended wait receiving our food and when we chased the staff were nonplussed about the delay. When the food eventually arrived the portions were very small for the price. Two of our party had the pancake stack and only received one small piece of bacon and a teaspoon of compote. The pancakes were also cold so had obviously been standing about. We were excited to try Noak as it is one of the few Brockley cafe we hadn't...

Oh dear ... Disappointing food; hopeless service and an absence of punters on a Friday night as word has obviously got out. Shame as the space is great (big curved windows on a corner street with space for a handful of outside tables shielded from the road . Saw this local restaurant during the day one sunday and booked it to take a friend who was coming to stay from out of town on Friday night.
