Awful food and service. Worst food we ate in Taormina this week. Beef was burnt and tasteless. Cocktails were extremely small for their price and also tasted bad. The staff was confused, it seemed that they didn’t know what they have to do. We waited a long time for our order, the food arrived cold and then we waited even more for the check. Awful experience, will definitely not return. Taormina has lots of good restaurants, unfortunately Porta Messina is not one of them. Speisekarte ansehen

Oggi siamo stati a Taormina e abbiamo pranzato in questo meraviglioso ristorante. Abbiamo ordinato una pizza, tagliatelle frutti di mare e calamari fritti con un insalata verde. Tutto buonissimo, non abbiamo aspettato tanto. All’inizio ci hanno portato una buonissima arancina tipica siciliana. Le bevande come per esempio l‘Aperol Spritz o succo di mela verde, buonissimo! Lo consiglio a chi a voglia di mangiare bene con una tipica atmosfera siciliana. Il personale era gentilissimo. Grazie per questa bella esperienza

Il ristorante è proprio all'inizio del corso principale di Taormina. Offre posti a sedere sia all'aperto che al coperto, e ha da poco rinnovato lo stile aggiungendo dei tavoli in pietra lavica stupendi. Il menu è variegato e sia la cucina del ristorante che le pizze sono superbe. Chiedete i piatti del giorno e lasciatevi consigliare dal personale di sala. Noi abbiamo provato qualche pizza da condividere, involtini di pesce spada, trancio di ricciola e dessert vari. Per un'esperienza più gourmet, a pochi metri c'è il Pirandello 2.0 appartenente agli stessi proprietari.

The Margherita pizza came with no basil. Fried Arancini ice cold in the middle. Croquettes as bland as sawdust. The waiter seemed annoyed from the start and never came back to the table to check on the food or drinks the entire time. The restaurant was moderately busy and there were cooking classes going on in the dining room during dinner service, with various people walking in and out of the kitchen and all over the place. We finally had to ask the busboy for our check(twice), our waiter finally came to our table for payment, didn’t ask how our dinner was or wish us well. We came close to walking out. We should have.
