"i have eaten in most of the best local and traditional restaurants in my area and i have to admit that there is a wealth of traditional cooking to be found in my province but this well established osteria works well and is still existent because it is simply one of the best. We entered and were served straight away and we were lucky as soon after the place filled to capacity. The anti pasta is famous for it-s size and so instead of opting for two portions we decided to have one portion divided into two . there is absolutely no way you could eat an anti pasto each and then try the pasta and the meat it would be one or the other as the first course is so rich and comprised today *varies with the season* 3 slices of parma ham one slice each of home made salami, capo collo and panjetta that is cured cold cuts two slices of ricotta two mozarrella balls 1 portion of green vegetables traditionally cooked with potatoes and one portion of white bean soup with chestnuts and cured ham 1 portion of roasted peppers and pumpkin and one portion each of roasted chicken wings, omellette, parmesan of aubergine and fried zucchini, bread and garlic bread. We ordered 1 litre of wine and one litre of water followed by another half litre of wine. My husband had a plate of hand made tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms but there was pasta with porcini, chestnuts and sausage sauce, wild boar and deer ragut, ravioli and baked pasta. I had a plate of pumpkin and peppers and tried the wild boar sauce accompanied with another 6 pieces of chicken morsels on the side seasoned to perfection, delicious, i could not have faulted the taste one bit, it tastes so good. I had a pork steak with porcini mushrooms and smoked cheese with a lite wine gravey and my husband a huge veal t bone steak, we ate salad as a side and then my husband had the desert he had difficulty to choose as they were all mouth watering.......... BABA CAKE!! a slice of thin and crispy sponge topped with chantilly cream and then baby rum baba and i had a plate of stuffed cheese with rocket and goats cheese on the side as an extra we both had grappa and coffee at an amazing price of 55 euros for two that is around 27 euros per head!!!! At times quantity overcomes the quality of the food when a good price is involved whereas here, quantity and quality dominate the table in equal measure but the best part of all is the price............The place was packed and for good reason, you eat well, are served well and then pay justly for a really good meal. We are local to the osteria and have never been unfortunately but will become regulars as it is so good. Thank you for a great meal and a great experience rita and gennaro, santo stefano del sole."

"It was not a very good experience unfortunately. To start with, there was no physical menu or QR code, so the service had to rely on an Instagram page that then links to a pdf with the menu (bad lettering choice that can barely be read). Despite the meal having good quality, I felt the owners of the service cared more about upselling then attending the clients need. The table is too small, it can barely fit all the items you order (two dishes, 2 glasses of beer, 2 glasses of water and two bottles). It really feels like you didn't have space to move your hands at the risk of dropping any item. The waiters were too relaxed, some sitting at a table next to us, others socialising with customers, while me and my partner waiting to be attended. Then we were waiting for the bill. We waited for so long, that I had to stand up and walk to the counter (we were sitting outside), despite having pain on my foot, because unfortunately I had had an accident that day. After 3 calls the owner comes with an informal bill of 54euros with no paper, saying he would give us a discount of 4 euros. I don't understand how it was so expensive in a small town in south of Italy, 2 burgers of 12 euros, plus a beer of 9 euros and a dessert shared for two. How does that sum up to 54 euros? Were they including the licor they offered on the house? (I clearly asked if they offered, because I didn't asked for any of that). I won't go there anymore"

"Locale accogliente, cameriere simpaticissimo e cucina di una volta E' sempre buona la cucina tipica e tradizionale ma è la più difficile da fare perchè a molti ricorda inevitabilmente la nonna e qui... ho mangiato proprio come cucinerebbe nonna. saporito, con cose buone e di qualità, cucinate con amore ed attenzione e anche tanta pazienza. L'antipasto basta da solo come cena ma è stato difficile non assaggiare la maialata: un piatto scostumatissimo che è di una goduriosità e saporosità indescrivibile... è molto pesante però vale proprio la pena!Scelta dei vini giusta, essenziale e non esagerata ma con belle chicche, soprattutto quelle della zona che ho trovato a prezzi onesti.Il conto, anche se abbiamo mangiato bene e con cibo di indubbia qualità, mi tocca ammettere che per la tipologia di locale è stato un po' troppo caro: qualcosina in meno sarebbe stato sicuramente più adeguato."

"Antipasti e primi piatti buoni e di qualità, in particolare i salumi e i latticini, da provare la provola affumicata....nn metto 5 stelle solo x la tagliata di carne al sangue, nn mi è piaciuta la cottura e né la scelta della carne,un po' dura, mentre la grigliata mista era buona...anche i dolci nn ci hanno entusiasmato, il pasticciotto che abbiamo preso con crema e amarena era talmente dura la sfoglia che lo copriva che è stato difficile mangiarlo infatti lo abbiamo lasciato nel piatto....hanno una buona scelta di vini, dall' aglianico al taurasi...ma anche il vino locale nn è male ..comodo il parcheggio e locale molto pulito...anche i camerieri gentili e accoglienti e il servizio abbastanza veloce...prezzi nella media....
