"This is the cafe and ice cream parlour which proudly serves Sidolo ice cream which is described as made in Wales by Italians Situated on the sea front just past the market and short walk from Butlins on way to town centre. We decided to treat the kids as it markets itself as an ice cream parlour which we thought would be an experience. The outside of shop is very run down and the interior is tired but very clean. We sat in The window seat overlooking the sea front and it is a nice view have uploaded a picture. The ice cream sundaes were served in tall traditional glasses and looked nice. The ice cream tasted nice too and offers about 10 different types of sundaes priced at £4:35 each. You get a wider selection of ice creams about 30 or more if you have a cone or a tub. The thing that disappointed us was that although marketing as an ice cream parlour where we expected it to be made from scratch we saw that the sundaes are factory prepared and a plastic pot is just inserted into the glass which spoils the overall expected service especially at the price which is similar to a Hagen Dazs cafe where they are prepared from scratch and offered as an experience. However we still enjoyed the ice cream. My wife had the treacle syrup sponge which is a medium portion with custard but is very rich and you would not want it to be bigger. Again, you could see that it was a prepared. Microwave sponge which was a shame as the overall parlour gives the impression of a homemade traditional parlour ... which clearly it is not. The other unique experience was being handed a code to get through a fake doorway which allows you to use the toilets it 's a bit odd .... and massive signs saying toilets only for patrons... despite free council toilets being well placed along promenade. On thing to mention was the very shiny taps in toilets someone obviously takes care and pride in shining them up. Overall, nice factory prepared ice cream, cakes dinners likely similar overpriced for what it is and could get similar sundae and syrup cake from Morrisons cafe for a £1.00 round corner. Disappointingly not the traditional parlour experience we thought it would be ... Shane as could easily get up there and then justify its existence as a parlour and would likely be a popular experience by the holidaymakers at Butlins. By the way, Butlins! also has a bit more expensive parlour on site but offers it in a traditional way so gives bit choice here as well. So, tasty ice cream thumbs up experience thumbs down. Ok visit if want something to do... Hope this helps you readers"

After a long walk, I stopped by this restaurant for some ice cream. The selection was incredible! I highly recommend the apple ice cream. Even though I just got a cone to go, the staff kindly offered me a seat inside. I happily accepted.

I was impressed with the selection of flavors at this restaurant. It took me a while to decide, but I ultimately went with the toffee and walnut. It was absolutely delicious and tasted like authentic Italian ice cream. The cafe itself also had a nice atmosphere, so I plan on returning to try their breakfast or lunch next time I am in Minehead, before indulging in another scoop of ice cream.

The service at this restaurant was awful. My 2-year-old needed to use the restroom urgently, but despite asking, we were refused access until we purchased something. I would have gladly bought an ice cream afterwards, but my child couldn't wait and ended up having an accident. This experience was distressing for both of us, and I will not be returning to this place in the future. It is disappointing that they are not more child-friendly, especially given their proximity to Butlins.

Leave yourself plenty of time to chose which ice cream you are going to have. With up to three freezers full of different flavours there is a lot of deciding to do and I usually change my mind several times before I finally make my mind up.We have never eaten inside but often get a take away sandwich to eat on the beach. Always packed with filing and the subs are huge. The surroundings are rather spartan but clean and on the whole the staff are friendly and helpful they also give you a ticket to use their loo when you make a purchase. Very useful as the beach loos leave a lot to be desired.

We ate here two days running, as was so nice, I have to say the fish and chips were delicious, the fish was totally fresh and the batter light and tasty, the portion was not huge but I didn't want the biggest fish and chips in the world I prefer to have the nicest. The icecreams are available as sundaes or scoops, I can absolutely recommend the Turkish delight and orio with nut sprinkles my husband had two of the sundaes on different days I hasten to add , both were delicious he assures me. The waitress was lovely as were all the staff, and we can completely understand that they need to keep the toilets for customers only it's a beach front cafe and people I'm sure can be cheeky . If it's qu...

The George Inn

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
