"Never one to write restaurant reviews but very disappointed. It is very interesting to see from past reviews others were also treated in the same way and shoved by the door if the restaurant preferred the look of other customers (generally if you are over 60 and wearing tweed you get priority. Laughable. Booked a table a good few weeks before a planned anniversary dinner, requested a particular side of the restaurant so we would not be sitting near the door, which was agreed by the restaurant . On arrival the waiter gave our table to a couple who arrived at the same time. NONE of the staff would do anything about it, they didn’t care, and we were put near the door, where I had requested not to be seated! . We decided to leave as we were quite upset with the treatment and lack of care we received. We will not return and will not recommend to anyone. Staff are unable to handle simple routines, this really shows the difference of a slick and professional restaurant with great customer service and places like this utterly useless!"

"Me and my husband went here as newlyweds for our first meal as a married couple after our wedding. We were welcomed very warmly and received very attentive service through the meal. I have tried a number of tasting menus including Casamia in Bristol and I can say the food at GL50 was absolutely fantastic. The portions were very generous for a tasting menu and the wine selection was brilliant. It was such a lovely treat for us on a really special week. I cannot wait for an excuse to go back and would recommend this to anyone who loves their food and wants a gastro experience."

"Came here for bottomless raclette and it did not disappoint. Raclette comes with charcuterie and potatoes and both were tasty. The cheese used in raclette was also tasty not just some average cheese. As far as bottomless goes it really was, the waitresses were always around and keeping an eye and the plates were free flowing. Definitely wasn 't a case of it 's bottomless but if we ignore you for 20 minutes you only get 3 plates. I stopped after 5 and honestly couldn 't eat anymore. A shout out to the chocolate dipping pudding too absolutely did not need it after all that cheese but was equally just as tasty, very much wanted to drink the dipping chocolate."

"Wir waren zum ersten Mal als vierköpfige Familie und müssen sagen, dass wir nicht enttäuscht wurden. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Von uns gab es ein Mittagsmenü, das ein äußerst gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ohne Kompromisse bei Präsentation oder Geschmack bot. Mein Mann hatte das Steak, von dem er sagte, es sei eines der besten, das er je hatte. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr schön, nach dem Essen mit einem der Köche zu plaudern. Die Mocktails waren auch sehr gut! Wir werden das nächste Mal wiederkommen, wenn wir in der Stadt sind"

"During our visit to Cheltenham, we stumbled upon this charming restaurant by chance. The staff were extremely welcoming and attentive to all our needs. The restaurant was also very clean and well-maintained. My husband ordered an Afghan chicken dish from the special menu placed on our table and he loved it. I opted for the Bombay Aloo and was not disappointed. The meal came with fluffy pilau rice and a delicious garlic naan bread. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and would highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant. Well done!"
