"Although the restaurant itself was very nice and we could not fault the attentive service of the waiting staff, the food was OK but not overly hot. We only had a main meal each plus drinks and shared a dessert. What annoyed us was, while we could do nothing but accept the 12.5% service charge on the bill, when we paid the bill by cash, we were not given any change which we felt was very cheeky. This was not just a few pennies it was nearly £7. If the change had been returned we may have chosen to leave a tip, however for it not to be returned left us feeling rather aggrieved. It should not be assumed that paying by cash means keep the change, especially when a service charge has already been added. Having only booked this restaurant for its location to the theatre we were going to, it definitely was not the best meal we had during our stay in London and the experience was the one we were the most disappointed with. I might add, the waiter who took the money from us was not one that had been serving us prior to this, he just happened to be passing our table."

Never heard of the place and chose it because it was convenient to the Theatre. What I delight both in terms of food and service.

What a find. Fabulous restaurant food and service was excellent and the special offer of 30% off the total bill made the visit a great success. We will definitely return at some point.

Good food but a long wait from ordering to being served (45 minutes at lunch sitting) .We were given a complimentary round of drinks as an apology but if the kitchen is short staffed perhaps better to warn diners in advance?

Lovely food, good choice. Initial greeting was poor but service at table good. Better value at 30%off- would be very overpriced at full price. Was over charged on tip at 16% when it said 12.5% on the bill which was confusing.

I had one of the worst dining experiences ever. The service was excessively eager, and the food was truly inedible. I would have raised a complaint, but my partner advised against it. To make matters worse, the advertised discount was misleading. I strongly recommend avoiding this place!

I've been to Sycamore many times. I enjoy the atmosphere and vibe. I also go because of the dining offer. However, this time, they did not honour what was promoted on the Open Table site. It was a struggle to get the discount, and in the end we had to compromise as the manager made a number of excuses as to why he couldn't meet their promise. Very disappointing and unnecessary.

The service was absolutely terrible. It took around an hour and a half for our main courses to arrive after we ordered, despite us asking multiple times and letting them know we had to leave for a theatre show. The staff appeared confused and seemed out of their depth. While the food was decent and the ambiance quite pleasant, the poor service overshadowed the entire experience.
