Tanhouse At Leith Hill Tower

£2.00 entry for adults and a quid for kids admits you to the Tower. Worth every penny. Free entry for National Trust members.

Great little starting or end point for you walk around Leith Hill and the surrounding areas. Good choice of drinks and food, cards are accepted and lovely friendly staff

Lovely walk through woodland to the top and enjoyed the 360 degree views from Leith Hill Tower, but found the two way steps on the stone spiral staircase very dark and a possible safety risk.

I think I encountered the same person as Denise. Unnecessarily rude and clearly just angry. The only stain on what is a beautiful place and a quaint little cafe. God knows why you choose to work with the public. I’m sure your employers know exactly who I mean.

The kiosk at the foot of the tower is a welcome sight after a long walk. They have a good selection of drinks and snacks. If you go up the tower you can read about the history of the tea kiosk (it's been there a long time, although I don't remember quite how long). Speisekarte ansehen

The walk from Landslip car park is about a quarter of a mile, according to the signs. It's quite steep through ancient woods and the walk itself would be lovely enough, but when you get to the top the views are wonderful. The Tower is a lovely old building. A £2 donation for upkeep allows you to the top where the views are even better.

The Tanhouse kiosk at Leith Hill is always a great place to stop for a cuppa and a piece of cake. After a brisk 4 mile wander around the Heathland walk a proper cup of tea in a mug with a lovely piece of cake is just what you need. The setting at the bottom of tower is amazing and the tea and cake is just as good. The Sausage rolls are pretty awesome too.

With the push to be less reliant on plastic and be eco-friendly it is highly refreshing (in more ways than one) to see the little kiosk café in the Leith Hill Tower offering delicious beverages in proper mugs. There's nothing better than looking down over Surrey and Sussex with a proper cuppa in your palm. And I'm sure it's far more eco to dishwash than use throw-away cups, even if they are allegedly recyclable. Speisekarte ansehen
