"Entering the stablishment was fine got told to sit anywhere.. after sitting for over 20 minutes in an empty restaurant, I personally had to approach the staff member to come and take my order… drinks came swiftly food not far afterwards.. the quality of food burger was just below average…. Ordered the bbq wings which are battered!. The battered wings where not fully cooked/ barely cooked then lathered (bbq sauce) and served waited awhile as we didn’t get any cutlery or napkins seeing as it was a burger… personally has to go and receive a hand fully of napkin’s from I’m assuming another member of staff…not once did anyone come and check until I acknowledged of other work suttlely that no body had one and ask how the meal went.. gave the server the food and she had left one culprit wings behind… the view to the kitchen was clear leaving the door open.. I seen sous chef and other chef brush off the stituation!. So I carried over the remaining wing still tact For them to examine… Borge the sous chef also supporting chef both of thier mouths dropped and walked away with their heads face sing down… I was greeted with either a manager/assistant or supervisor she didn’t announce who she was.. I got told the wings have been compt what more do you want…. I wish I expressed a perfectly cooked patty.. abhtger byn to fit the over cooked patty… oh yeah not to be served raw batter for the bqq wings!. "This place has vastly improved under the more recent management the forever cheerful Gail and the rather dour Charlie (well he carries the burden of being Scottish). It's one of those delightful old English pubs that resists video screens and games machines. A log fire and lots of crannies to sneak into to enjoy the food. (Hint: Always try the specials). "I had an absolutely amazing evening! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection—it's far superior to places like Miller & Carter, and now it’s my go-to spot. The steak was cooked just right and tasted fantastic. They have an incredible selection of cocktails, side dishes, and desserts! The atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were brilliant and attentive. I highly recommend this place to everyone! It's easily the best restaurant in Hereford."

"The “beef three ways” was beautifully presented on a wooden platter. The steak was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The cylinder of compressed pulled beef cheek was just as delicious and coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, providing a delightful textural contrast. The little pot of baby onions and slow-cooked beef was absolutely divine, rich and buttery. The chips were the best I have ever tasted, surpassing even those at Ynyshir. Our waitress, Evelyn-May, was a true delight. She handled the lighthearted banter from two older gentlemen with ease and made us feel welcome and cared for. We couldn’t help but admire her hair! I’m already planning a second visit, despite the long journey from Northern Ireland, so my wife can experience this wonderful little restaurant. All I ask is that Ed can promise to prepare the same dish to the same high standard."

"we went to the bunch of carrots the three of us for Sunday lunch. my wife and I lived with her sister who lives not far from the restaurant/pub. we booked lunch for 2:30 clock the place was busy when we arrived, we were shown quite fast on a table. beautiful decoration. my wife ordered the scampi chips and inherited her sister ordered the smoked scarlet and prawn in a thermidor sauce with chips and inherited. I ordered the car. 3 glasses of wine and a creamy water. the carvery had 3 pork pork pork turkey yorkshire pudding filling ball a lot of sweet roasted carrots and boiled spits. I had to wait, but not long. in this time fresh meat and vegetables came out. all hot and very tasty, as I came back to the table, my wife and her sister served her eating. we all enjoyed our eating, and the girls also had desserts sticky toffee pudding with cream or ice, I was too full of the carvery. the place was still busy, but well organized. the price was reasonable for us 3. we will come in future and more of us will definitely come back."
