A really nice country pub and restaurant. Excellent food. Young staff were attentive and very friendly and helpful. A joy to be served by them.

Friendly staff and great food, had a nice Christmas lunch meeting with a friend. Very festive decor and felt relaxing. Easy to park. Will come again.

Lovely setting with very personable staff. Food was good. A little disappointed that they had run out of custard for the crumble and there was no crackling with the loin of pork.

Fantastic the whole round when we arrived there, although Signage again blocked road would have been much better on the road and your website and cost us a 20-minute detour enroute

This is an excellent spot to visit. The service is welcoming and friendly, and there is a cozy fire to keep you warm during the winter. The beer selection is fantastic and the food is top-notch. Speisekarte ansehen

We just had New years Day meal with our best friends and family and had a wonderful experience, lovely friendly welcoming people, fantastic food and service. Absolutely 5 stars from us all and can’t wait to go back again and get some fabulous fudge too!!

We were really pleased we took the trouble to drive 30 minutes from Castleton to this lovely pub. The food is of a really high quality with an interesting and tasty 'special '. It 's obvious there 's a lot of care and attention going into the food from the kitchen. Serving staff helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Easy parking just across the road. Don 't be put off by the 'Road Closed ' signs (December 2022) the pub is still open and accessible Highly recommended..

This has the appearance of a traditional country pub. The food, as well as the service, however, takes to a different level. The insides are clean and well maintained. The tables are glossy and polished and are not sticky with overwhelming pubs. The service is very friendly, welcoming and up to Earth. And the beer is good. But it is the food that attracts the bar (pardon the pun). The flavors of the foods are well matched and exceptional. It may sound expensive, but there is a reason and it is an excellent reason; the food is absolutely exquisite. Is there something to recommend? It's okay. No, really! Speisekarte ansehen
