"We had booked a table for two but they seemed surprised to see us. Eventually got seated, watched the table next to us have their starters and another table finish dessert and pay and leave … while we waited for them to take our order. ONE HOUR AFTER ARRIVING they finally took our order. Too late by then for starters we opted for a main meal and drinks. It arrived reasonably quickly but was uninspiring. Yes they gave us a free mocktail we were both driving) but other than that it was very disappointing. And to add insult to injury, when we left, the group of waiting staff gathered near the exit couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge us, affirming to us the staff ARE miserable and can’t be bothered with a paying customer. We will not visit again!"

"Fabulous from booking in to leaving the service was outstanding. Friendly, polite and not too long to wait even though was busy and having problems with payment machine. The food was outstanding. My hubby had the steak and I had the pork . Not something I would normally choose but it was delicious and even the vegetables were very tasty. The portion sizes were ample and the price very good. Would highly recommend. Would even say was possibly one of the best meals we have had"

"A great food and drink experience once again for my birthday it was the best and great real ale ,thanks again. Latest update: went again tonight with friends and the beer and food is great as usual, can't wait till next time. Another great experience for mother's day with great food lovely people and great beer, can't wait for birthday once more, I will be back. Another great experience for father's day will good menu and ale selection. This year's Christmas meal with friends and family was another great success, great food lovely environment and no wonder it's my meals out top pub. "Polite quick service. Thanks for suggesting the home made chips, they were nice. Could do with some music to drowned out everyone else's conversations, radio talk can be heard but not over people. That's being picky, great meal though."

"Well what can I say, we went here for the first time last night and what a great place it is. There were five of us and we didn't have to wait too long for food, it all came out near enough together and we mainly ordered different meals. The food was delicious, I had the lamb dinner with minted gravy it was very tasty and plenty on your plate. All my friends meals looked lovely too and plenty on their plates. We also had dessert because I couldn't resist having treacle sponge and custard. We also had a coffee afterwards which is something we don't usually do and I must say I enjoyed it more because you had a mug of coffee and not a small cup that you have two swigs and it's gone so it was much better. I would definitely recommend The Antlers to anyone and we have already booked our next night out to go back there. Ben and Sarah are two really nice people who were nice to talk to and very helpful, a very pleasant couple which is also nice when you go out. I have also been asked to mention the magician, sorry I didn't get the boy's name, by my daughter she said she thought he was sweet and thought it was funny how he was trying to show her magic tricks. So if you are thinking of eating here do so because it is a fab place and so welcoming."
