The Colony Grill Room

Excellent service and delicious food at the Colony Grill, Beaumont Hotel, London. My daughter loved it. Wonderful atmosphere.

Good atmosphere friendly service and very reasonable for this part of London.. Menu changes regularly so can't suggest what to try... But if you get the cannelloni that's worth a try...

Set in a lovely boutique 5-stat hotel, the Colony grill offers a varied selection of great food, wine and dessert. The service was exceptional and the decor is the ideal balance of quirky and elegant. Great for a family meal or date if you want somewhere different.

something from a hidden star behind the hectic of Selfridges/Oxford street. the colony flees it back to a great Gatsby-Esque era of the refined and beautifully presented fine kitchen with informed and attentiveness to fit detail service. I recommend the steactare, of course with raw. aren't surprised if they see someone famous, but please don't stare.

Languid Art Deco dining room. A brunch menu with something for everyone. Food excellent. Freshly squeezed orange juice reminded me of a Greek island. Latte on point. Bottom line there’s only so much you can do with an eggs Benedict or a full English. But what separates this establishment from other well heeled diners was the service. It was impeccable. We were made to feel special. And our little one even got a Beaumont bear. Those are the small details that will make us come back. We dined at 10.15am on 22nd October. The maitre D and the lady in charge of waiters working the floor were just sublime!!

He’s keeping a close eye on it, is Mr King. So far I’ve been during the soft opening, for two breakfasts (not together) and a rather leisurely lunch and he’s been there twice, doing that thing he does, welcoming you at the door in that charming yet slightly intimidating way, as he towers over you, making sure that everything is just so. I seem to be dishing out high scores all the time at the moment. It's not because I'm easily pleased, or too nice (I'm horrible) but simply because the level of cooking these days is becoming much more serious. With diners tastes changing (for the better) and people eating out more, there's quickly becoming no space for mediocre food unless it's after midnight and you've had a few too many. The Colony Grill Room is the main restaurant of the 73-room Beaumont Hotel, the first such venture from experienced restaurateurs Corbin King (of The Delaunay, The Wolseley, Fischers, Zedel and Colbert). The building dates back to 1927 and was originally a full service garage for Selfridges, and more recently an Avis car hire building. Apart from the facade, which is listed, the new building was created entirely from scratch, but the interior design echoes the art deco feel of that period.
