"I have waited quite a long time to go to Claridges as I am not in London often, but a friend and I make the trip annually to try afternoon tea at one of the big establishments and then review them. Firstly, despite trying to book afternoon tea 3 months ago I was told they were fully booked for afternoon tea but we could have the lunch menu instead. I was disappointed by this and even more so when I got there today to find people either side of me having afternoon tea. When I questioned why there wasn't room for us to have afternoon tea too I was told it was served in a separate area which was full. I pointed out the people next to us and was just given a load of mumbles and excuses. It makes no sense. If they have room to seat you surely they can serve you either afternoon tea or lunch especially with 3 months notice. The lunch was nice but grossly overpriced. I could have made it myself for about £20. They got my main wrong but I accepted what they brought as I didn't want my friend to be waiting for me while they redid my dish. I presumed that they would charge me for the dish I ordered and not the one they brought me in error which was over £20 more. They didnt. I didn't notice this until after we paid. I also asked for a rose prosecco but if they didn't have it white would be fine. I was poured a glass of rose fizz but it turned out to be rose Champagne at twice the price. I also discovered this on the bill. Very sneaky on 2 counts. We had to ask for the bill twice before it was brought. The service was okay, everyone was OTT polite but it was very fake and the same person didn't come back twice, we must have had over 5 people in total wait our table. With the discretionary tip of 12.5% (which I think is a very impolite way of asking for more money and making it awkward for you to say no) the lunch came to over £260. I agree with all the comments about it being a tourist trap. It is overpriced and doesn't have the lustre of the photos you see. There is no atmosphere, no USP. They just count on the footfall I think. It might have been the number one place to go at one point but now it wouldnt make my top 10. The doormen didn't even acknowledge us so we got the door both in and out ourselves. Very disappointed!"

We went for some drinks on Saturday night, very impressed from the excellent service and the very friendly staff. Claridge’s is one of my favourites places is central London!

WAAAAY overpriced, totally average experience. Drinks nowhere near good enough for the prices being charged. Can't help but feel taken for a ride, they seem to be exploiting the good name of the hotel to overcharge for a sub-par experience. Happy to pay when it's worth it, this definitely was not.

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch in The Foyer and Reading Room. The staff were friendly, polite and very attentive. This is our 'go to ' restaurant when visiting London. The food was delicious and the ambience wonderful. We then enjoyed drinks and desserts in Claridges Bar. Again our waiter was excellent couldn 't do enough for us. George stopped and chatted to us for a while about the hotel which was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. Speisekarte ansehen

Arrived to a buzzing Claridges to enjoy some afternoon tea! A friendly warm welcome on arrival. We were a pair of greedy guests and did not say no to offers of more delicious sandwiches and scones! Tea was also replenished regularly, we had several pots! The team were super friendly and we had a good laugh with them. We did enjoy a look around the hotel and I must say everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming! Sometimes very grand hotels can be stuffy, not at Claridges!! What a wonderful time we had in Claridges and thank you to the team for making our day so special!

Been coming to claridges a lot over the past few months it’s my new favourite haunt while I am in London. First time in this part of the hotel. Staff are fantastic so polite and welcoming. I am a very casual dressed person so I’m in jeans, hoodie and trainers and I was still treated very nicely (compared to a lot of other London hotels where this would not happen). Got sat in a nice little corner of the restaurant which is what I asked for. The food was fantastic and the staff you cannot fault at all. The experience you get for what you pay is worth every single penny. Got given a for box of fudge ton my way out by the amazing waiter. Can’t wait to come back.

I fulfilled a long held ambition and attended for Afternoon Tea on Friday 1 September. My experience more than lived up to expectations, from the moment I entered the hotel everyone I encountered went out of their way to make me feel welcome and special. The Foyer is a true art deco masterpiece and is such an elegant venue, however the true stars are the staff who although very busy, delivered a first class service. My waiter Jairo was excellent, very knowledgeable and I had a good laugh with him he explained the order of service, the various sandwich fillings and teas available and made sure my champagne and tea were replenished regularly. The sandwiches were really good and I was given ano... Speisekarte ansehen

I was incredibly impressed with the reservations team at Claridge’s. They graciously and professionally helped me reschedule my afternoon tea both over the phone and via email. As a solo diner at The Foyer Reading Room, I felt well taken care of by Michael and Leo. They were both gentle, caring, and charming, taking the time to explain the dishes and engage in conversation. The atmosphere was enhanced by a female violinist and a male pianist playing lovely pieces nearby. I started with a glass of Laurent Perrier rosé champagne and enjoyed a selection of delicious sandwiches, followed by a flambéed Christmas pudding. Despite feeling full, the desserts were so tempting that I asked to take the...

I love coming here! The staff are exceptional. From the manager George (Indian) to the wait staff: Maggie, Peter, Georgio, Jean-Luca, Isaak, Mimi, Anita, Emily, Irina, Omar, Cutton... just a lovely lovely bunch of people. Personable, insightful, effervescent and really welcoming, especially as a long time customer. I never feel judged, I'm treated with respect, kindness and met with the same energy I put out. Hospitality like this is VERY RARE and I couldn't recommend Claridges enough. Only once did an older gentleman speak to me and my mother rudely, but as soon as he witnessed how the team responded to me being there his demeanour changed and he apologised. Claridges is by far the best pla...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
