"Managed to get a table at late notice which was good. Table was small for 4 persons and dogs were allowed in which sadly for daughter was not great as she’s terrified of them. Service was fine and meal arrived quickly. The menu online is not the menu offered on a Sunday as prices are more expensive than online. (Said £6.95/7.95 and upward online) Still for £9.95 not a bad Sunday lunch price however you really don’t get a lot of food. We got one bowl of veg between 4 plenty carrots, cauliflower and cabbage but not a lot of turnip 3 spoons and it was gone. A separate bowl of mushy peas. We did not get a lot of meat and one person had only a few shredded pieces on their plate and small spoonful of mash/roasts. One large Yorkshire. Food tasted nice just don’t expect a huge portion. Desert menu was plentiful priced around £5 each. We enjoyed deserts and quite filling. Drinks reasonably priced also."

"Friendly village local pub and restaurant. Fresh food is First class and very reasonably priced with good portions of great British fayre. Place is spotlessly clean, always a smile from behind the bar from Ian, Joanne and Lee, Caroline is our favourite waitress and Sophie the chef cooks steak to perfection. A very happy welcoming place buzzing with lighthearted banter that has a special magnetism which draws you back time and time again."

"Very friendly , beautiful surroundings and the music was awesome in the beer garden!! Went down on new years day and the atmosphere was electric, I did the karaoke and we had an amazing time. Neil, the owner even bought everyone pizza as the kitchens were closed. Really nice friendly place and the staff were amazing. Massive thanks to Tyler, Zoe, Layla and Helen for joining in the fun. If you dont visit The Burn or The Farrers in Crook then you are totally missing out"

"Went out with a family of drinks where okay (but no fosters on tap), ordered our meal on a quiet Saturday night at turn over time was good, but forgot one of the starters, so had to eat that alone as everyone else...had finished before that starter arrived. Then the mains came, pizzas where good to be honest, but had the risotto which was wrong when it arrived so sent back to fix, they brought another dish out completely different and then once the correct dish came out it was disgusting! It was horrible chicken, loads of raw spring onions, and I found a piece of rubber in the dish. When I mentioned this, I got... aww sorry. This was it, nothing else just take the plate away. This is on my door step and truth be told, I would rather stay at home and cook myself if this was the experience I knew I was going to have. For me, it ruined our family night out together."

"the best pub lunch we can remember. we stopped here two days ago on the way home and it was brilliant. obviously as safe as possible. the staff was friendly and efficient, but it was the outstanding quality of eating. our grandson and I had their dukes chicken, my wife a really beaten pasta. the chicken shell was raised. our enkel is a smoky eater and he sat just and finished the hugging and even asked if he had his finger run around the plate to finish the sauce. desserts were just as good that could argue with crispy and hot custard. very recommended a visit"
