"Lovely old house and I think good value if your looking to stay in the area. The room had an old clean room smell. Which I really liked. The staff and owner was really nice with a lovely doggy. Rooms: Room was lovely good size with bath. Big bathroom with 2 sinks so both can get ready together. Bed was comfy. Room was full of character. Had the old wooden blinds still in place Walkability: We went for a walk in the area. Was nice little a walk. But you had to walk in the road to get to it. Beautiful fields round the back of the fossebridge to walk of tea or dinner. Didn't walk very far, but there was a little stream the owner said the walk was a 5 mile round trip so we didn't walk that far as it was already late after our tea Food drinks: Meal for 2 with shared starter was £54. The portions was big and the quality was good. So I'd say you got what you paid for. The ales where nice too."

Had a fantastic long weekend stay with my family, the food was incredible and the staff where all extremely friendly and accommodating. The rear garden is stunning and perfect to enjoy a drink in! Had a fantastic stay with my family to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. A great family hotel especially for kids as they can run around the beautiful gardens. The rooms were all quirky and the hotel was full of character. The standout was the dinner, this was truly superb. Big on quantity and quality. Very reasonably priced too. Would certainly return. This was simply a delight! The one bad thing to mention is, that we were only here for one night? The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The place was in a great location with a lovely stream, the building had fantastic character as well! Rooms we nice and homely Food brilliant! The breakfast was very well presented and the chef knew exactly what they were doing! Highly recommended. Service: 5

Fabulous food with incredibly cheerful service! Our party of 9 ate dinner here. The food received rave reviews from all. As the only vegetarian present, I was delighted that there was more than 1 option, and my savory pie was lovely. Moist and tasty sticky toffee pudding to top everything off. Clare provided cheerful, helpful, and completely accurate service, even with our large party. We would all highly recommend dinner here! Service: 5
