Did not stay here so cannot comment on the rooms but they look fantastic from the outside. Went for a Sunday roast, delicious

Stopped for a food. Didn’t even realised that such a gem is hiding just next to my home. Service absolutely outstanding it was my second visit and I’m not changing my mind. Food delicious! Great place and people very friendly! Speisekarte ansehen

After enjoying the pork belly roast dinner, I just arrived home and I must say, wow! It might just be the best roast dinner I've ever had. Perhaps they could have added a few more roast potatoes on the plate, but I can be greedy. I would rate it 10/10.

Not a huge menu but what we had was very nice. Good fish choices. It would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted another drink, rather than having to get up to the bar, but that's just being picky, we were asked several times if the food was ok. So quite attentive but then left alone.

Loved the Old Red Lion. Quirky, quaint in a beautiful setting. We were there as part of a family wedding. Only thing I would say is that the chalets need a bit of tlc, bit shabby in places but nevertheless very comfy. Food was good the staff worked their socks off. It was obvious towards the end they were tired but it had been a very busy weekend for them. The young lady with dark hair specs was a delight. Thank you all for an enjoyable stay! I was not impressed by this restaurant. Nothing stood out as particularly special. The service was very slow and the dishes were pretty basic and, in reality, bland. The best part of the meal was the desserts. Most of the sandwiches were dry and uninteresting. The pies and mash were mediocre - the mash was good but the pie filling was just okay and the pastry was tough and overcooked. The scampi sandwich received the best review. Overall, considering the price, the quality of the food should have been better.

Unfortunately prawn cocktail was lacking in sauce, Yorkshire puddings were to well done , no-one bothered to ask if everything Ok, and waitress (with Black glasses and grey jumper) obviously having a bad day and customers getting the brunt of it. the bill was almost thrown at us and rude to the point of telling us to get off our table because they wanted to use it for second sitting, we were not asked if we wanted coffees (because in a hurry to get rid of us), there are ways of asking and that was not it. Unfortunately not the best of atmospheres

Really disappointed in our visit yesterday. 9 of us pre booked for a special occasion and advised in advance one was gluten free. We arrived 1.45 and they had already sold out of the only GF main on the menu and whilst they said they could cater for a GF roast, what this actually meant was they would just remove the half of the dinner (Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and stuffing). There was only 3 X Chicken roasts left by the time we arrived however as we left we noticed them taking orders for this again. When queried they advised 'oh we found some more chicken '.
