"Came with a large group of friends. The chef suggested that we simply state our preferred price range and he would just bring us an assortment of dishes, but he seemed to be offended by the fact we were only looking to spend around £15 each. No problem, we'd just order from the menu. Glasses for water came out but half of them were unwashed to the point of being visibly brown. My bowl also had a healthy layer of brown crust on it. It was at least 45 minutes until the first dish arrived. To be fair, the food was fairly tasty if rather salty and portions were fairly large (a group of 4 could probably split 3 main dishes) but I've had better takeaways for half the price. The meat was clearly cheap. If you absolutely must order from here, I thought the pork wih aubergine was quite good. One bite of my sticky rice was so cold I could hear the ice crystals break between my teeth. The bill we received initially was considerably higher than expected due to some incorrect adding up this was eventually fixed after a bit of to ing and fro ing. In the end, £15pp for the quantity of food we got is a pretty fair price these days but that's where the positives end. To top it all off, several of our group had a stomach ache the next day. There's no shortage of good Chinese or East Asian food in Cambridge don't waste your money and risk your health here!"

A really great meal! The dishes were all freshly made and tasted fabulous. We would share some dishes when we go again though as we couldn’t eat it all.

Takeaway food was generally poor and very expensive £50 for 2 main dishes and a side). The aubergine side dish was reasonable. But the beef was tough and of low quality. The pork dish had not much tough meat and a lot of tofu.

Food was burnt and soooo salty, service slow and so overpriced. For the cost it would have been nice for them to shred the duck rather than dump I quarter duck on the table and walk off. Picture is of a schezwan chicken burnt and what can only be described as a plate of cashews and chilli!

Went with a colleague and the food was good. The staff were nice and friendly. Most of the business seems to be take-away but it is possible to eat in which we did. The only down side is that they only take cash and you cannot use a credit card. However, there is a cash machine in the Co-op nearby. Speisekarte ansehen

We went there after finding the Pomodoro next door entirely full. It was completely empty, for a reason, as it turns out. They only take cash, which considering the highish prices is problematic. The staff are charming and attentive, but this does not make up for the food which is remarkably tasteless. Hard to make hot and sour soup bland, but they achieved it. Definitely meat which had stayed too long in the chiller. Would not make a return visit

A very quiet, gem of place hidden at the back of Homerton street. We only came to know this place when we started living in the flats nearby. Does excellent Chinese/Chinese fusion. The Chef who owns the place take pride in his cooking and always use high quality ingredients (especially meat). Dishes are a bit a pricey but the portions are bit and worth it. The Cumin Lamb is a thing of beauty and nearly converted my vegetarian wife to a non vegetarian. The fried dumpling served with chilli paste is also excellent.

My experience of Chinese restaurants to date has put them into 2 categories: 1. Bog standard 'British Chinese ' cuisine pretty similar wherever you go 2. Upmarket places which do something different fusion, for example The Peking Restaurant has now given me a third category. The meals on offer are the same dishes as we 're accustomed to, but they are clearly home made and very well home made at that. This place is a real gem. The service was awesome. There was a delay with our mains and the waiter insisted on giving us a free round of drinks. I tried to pay for them but he wouldn 't have it. The Peking Restaurant feels utterly genuine. I can recommend it without reservation. Speisekarte ansehen

Tucked away in a modern development, off the main road between the city centre and the hospital, there doesn't seem to be any immediate parking. We exited town by taxi. The place is minimalist, spotless but presents a slightly sterile feel. As with other reviews, we found the food freshly prepped and cooked and best flavours. The portions are BIG and on a future visit would share some of them. Beware, it's cash only, no cards or cheques, which could catch you out. Certainly not cheap we had an inexpensive £22) bottle of wine and just a few courses and, with a service charge, it cost us £110 cash. The food was good enough to attract us to go again when we want to dine Chinese. Good service.

We, (a friend of ours, her father, my sister and myself) arrived at the restaurant, at 6pm, as it opened for the Saturday evening restaurant crowd, and as soon as we arrived we were welcomed in by the front of house manager and shown to our table, pleasantries exchanged, we were all given menus to order our meals from, our friend's father decided to order for us all, buffet style, to which we all agreed. First, he ordered drinks, in this case four beers, followed by our starters, prawn crackers, sesame seed toasts, and bang bang chicken, which were brought to our table, and were all quickly consumed, as we were all hungry, the mains were, sweet and sour prawns, sweet and sour chicken with sc...

"added dropwise for a pizza on the afternoon without reservation, and we were warmly welcomed and set immediately. the smell of reifer tomatensauce and gooey mozzarella in the stone oven under fire baked was an salutation to the sinnen. the restaurant was filled with a pleasant humor of talking and laughing, the sound of the teigs chopped in the kitchen, and the familiar sound of tellers and cutlery picked up and put down again - all with weak Italian music plays in the background. the ambiente was a tasteful hauch of seafoam blue on the wooden wall panels and equipped with sturdy furniture with red chili oils, salt and peppers and various types of fresh crimp on each table. a table can have salvia, another basilikum, the next coriander. a charming, subtler node to the l 'arte d 'arrangiarsi the art of making something from nothing of pizza. the menu was easy and easy to navigate, nothing to slandered level and nothing too adventurous. we ordered a pesto pizza and we asked for extra tomato sauce to which our server would be happy insured. after many times we came to our table customers and sleeps! the pesto had a tasteful taste and was pleasant tangy, the tomato sauce was juicy and not quite watery, and the mozzarella was evenly distributed and reached every end of the teigs. the best part, however, was the thick, soft resistance of the crust - not even the least incineration, but just at the right time pulled out of that. a 1 x 1 ' ft perfectly presented pizza. the, with two fizzy drinks, for less than 20 £. will return for the same, but with the intention to add a little red wine."
