Great atmosphere with welcoming staff. While I personally didn't enjoy their house-made beer and ale, that's just a matter of personal preference. Overall, I rate the service 4 out of 5 and the location 4 out of 5.

Unfortunately there was not a huge choice of beers, the outside space wasnt great, and there is only one toilet. We were puzzled when we went to the bar as there were 3 people serving one customer, not the best hostelry we visited that day. Service: 2 Location: 4 Speisekarte ansehen

I stopped by after a walk and was in need of a drink and a snack. I highly recommend the Black IPA; it's fantastic! We also tried the gourmet fries topped with Parmesan and truffle, which were delicious. We had walked in from Brading and decided to grab a pint. The Black IPA is absolutely amazing. Overall, I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 5.

Could be so much more Rooms: Locks on room doors don’t fit so bang when any door is opened. An interesting smell from the bathroom, wet dog vs drains. Food drinks: A very heavy potato and pea pizza, the base would make a good surfboard. Delicious cider on tap for one round then served beer as cider, a tap confusion. Breakfast from 08-09.00 on a weekend..? don’t hurry, it’s toast, wheetabiix or cornflakes. Rooms: 2

As a pub this place has never been great but it has always had a warm, welcoming feel, a few locals propping up the bar, some tourists drinking out front in the summer, a log fire in the winter. When we heard that it had been taken over (by the old landlord 's sons) we were really keen to check it out. Sadly all the charm has gone, whitewashed walls and strip lights mean it feels more like the kind of place you 'd pop in to buy a bucket and spade than settle in to enjoy a pint, let alone dinner. We didn 't eat so can 't comment of the quality of the pizza but the drinks were fine, we had a black IPA which wasn 't up to much and a Pimms, which they had no fruit for.
