The Ship Wandsworth

This was our 12th consecutive annual lunch and was, as ever, excellent. The frequency of our visiting says it all: friendly, helpful, great service, great food and great value..what more can one ask for?

Great food, great atmosphere, great service and two fireplaces! They looked after our booking from several weeks upfront and had no issues at all when we had to alter the booking a couple of times. Highly recommend!

We went for Sunday lunch 4 of us and it was ok for some and not for others. We all chose roasts turkey was good, beef was tough and even steak knives didn't help pork was quite nice but roast potatoes weren't crispy. Service was slow but charming. Wouldn't rush back there's a lot of competition out there and Im sure this used to be better. Obviously a busy time but should this affect how good the food is? Speisekarte ansehen

I went to an event on Tuesday 19Dec and required coins for a game. Neither myself, or family, had any coins and we specifically wanted two pence pieces. Mia went out her way to help me out, spending quite a bit of time trying to help us. She came back to me, in time for the game, with 12 two pence pieces. I was absolutely delighted and want to give Mia the kudos she absolutely deserves for the way she handled our issue. Thank you Mia; you’re a star xx

Lovely friendly team who were warm and lovely. Fairly quiet for Boxing Day but made to feel very welcome and a nice buzz; open fire, families, couples, friends and dogs. Nice menu, fairly simple. Only slight downside was the burger. I think perhaps the oil in the kitchen fryer/cooker needed changing. Bit of an after taste. My husband's fish and chips were superb however. Looking forward to trying the raclette which looked very interesting. Great to have such a nice local.

The Ship in Wandsworth is a hidden gem! I had a fantastic experience during my visit last week. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with exceptional service from the staff. The dinner was absolutely delicious, especially the perfectly cooked beef which was tender and flavorful. The riverside setting added to the magical experience. I highly suggest dining at The Ship for an unforgettable experience. It definitely deserves a 5-star rating! I will definitely be back again. Speisekarte ansehen

We were warmly greeted by the team when we visited The Ship. We opted to dine in the restaurant area, which provided ample space and a cozy atmosphere. The roasted dishes were fantastic, with succulent meat, crispy roasties, and melt-in-the-mouth Yorkshires. The portion sizes were generous, even for the children's roast, ensuring that our little VIP felt included. The team was attentive and we never felt rushed. We are eagerly anticipating our next visit to The Ship. Thank you!

An absolute delight from start to finish. We were a multigenerational group and the Manager and Waitress, could not have been more amenable or friendly. The latter was caring for quite a large room of people and yet, service was prompt, impeccable and always with a smile. The food hot and delicious altho’ the roast Angus beef, was not up to Angus standard quite gristly, but to be fair Angus is the family business! The decorations were probably the prettiest and most stylish , I’ve seen so far, so thank you to the Ship and all who sail with her thoroughly recommend.

We decided to have Christmas lunch at a British pub, expecting a delicious roast dinner. However, we were extremely disappointed. There was no festive atmosphere, and the turkey dinner we received was terrible. Despite having enjoyed good food at The Ship in the past, our plates were overloaded with thick slices of turkey, gammon, and a mystery red meat (possibly beef), along with overcooked vegetables and soggy potatoes. We paid £110 per person, which was not worth it. We were served a glass of champagne, 3 canapés for 2 people, turkey, and a small Christmas pudding each.
