"The food has gone down-hill in recent weeks. I am unsure what has happened but the packaging has changed, all of our favourite food now comes VERY different. For example then wraps are tightly wrapped with not much substance, the fishcakes and chips are stale, and the sausages have changed to a very processed taste. We used to order weekly but now we will try again in a few months. UPDATE 23/04/2024 This was an old review, i can say that it has improved back to how it used to be, i'm not sure what has changed but good job Trawlies :"

I believe they serve the best fish and chips in town. The cod is the largest I've seen, and the chips are delicious. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I appreciate the complimentary condiments they provide.

Had the best fish and chips ever at The Trawlerman in Saffron Walden today! The fish was incredibly crispy, and the flavor was outstanding. Golden chips complemented the dish perfectly. Absolutely fantastic chippy. Genuinely up there with some of the nicest takeaway cod chips I've ever had. I'd recommend the salt pepper squid as a starter too. Will be our go to chippy for Saffron Walden I think the Trawlerman is a real asset for the town. The staff are also very friendly, there is a nice ambiance about the place.

Ordered a meal with delivery. Over £25 in value. Order arrived no fish. Phoned to report shortage. 1/2 hour later, fish arrived. Fish cold on arrival Of course by that time, everything else was cold too. Had to heat everything up and it wasn't as nice as it should have been. Very disappointed. I will think twice in future if I use trawlerman.
