The Whalebone Jd Wetherspoon

Me and my mum really love it here. Unlimited hot drinks. Food is really reasonable if your in a tight income, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff especially the manager whose very friendly. We always have a nice time here!. :

Genuinely nice weatherspoons situated in central Downham Took a break on a big run to grab a drink nd a bite to eat, lovely historical building with good space indoors and outdoors Service was friendly and fast perfect for a spoons break!

Typical wetherspoons. Cheap beer that attracts a certain clientele. Dubious table cleanliness. Nothing on the menu that tempted us. Toilets though we're spotless. Only went in because it was lunchtime, raining and we were thirsty. One out of three!!

Worse meal ever tasted tonite we ordered tennessy burger but come as chicken challeged staff told cos ordered on app which everyone is encourged to i might add ! The chicken was like rubber very dissapointed and couldnt believe the amount of used plates on several tables!

Love this place for a great breakfast in the morning.... It's friendly and I love the way they have incorporated historical elements into the decorating of the Whalebone. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere Downham Market is a better place because of it... That you Weatherspoons

Typical Witherspoon type fayre. You know exactly what you'll get which is why it's popular and cheap. The garden was lovely on the morning we visited and it was fairly quiet. Service was good and the food we had was enjoyable. A full brekky for £6.95 nd unlimited hot drinks ..you can't really argue with that.

Very comfortable wetherspoon pub with extremely spacious dining and outstanding outdoor provision of tables in the beer garden. Food up to a usual standard for whetherspoons and cleanliness /hygiene level was high too. It was a fairly noisy pub due to being heavily occupied at the time I went Saturday lunchtime , a good sign of a good pub

Short staffed, so no coffee available in machine, had to find member of staff to sort machine out. Several mugs were dirty, before being given clean one. Staff were clearly struggling with work load. Only 2 staff on bar area. Had curry . Chicken alttle dry, nan bread and poppadoms a little over done. But saying that 3 meals and drink for 25.00.

Glad to see Tim Martin doing his best to avoid his clients becoming alcoholics went here to have a few drinks and a meal, with brother in law, nephew and friend. Spent 20 minutes queuing for first round when we entered ordered second round on app, after waiting over 45 minutes for it to be delivered went to bar and collected it ourselves, Never had meal kitchen was closed twice whilst we were there. Avoid this place. Staff were good no fault to them they worked hard pity they didn't have support from management.
