As always, made to feel very welcome. Excellent freshly cooked food. Very clean. Franco staff are the best.

While this Wimpy location may not be in the best area, the food and service are impeccable. The quality of the food is outstanding, the staff is lovely, the restaurant is very clean, and it offers good value for the money.

Don't get to Basildon that often but always drop into Wimpy as always get s friendly welcome and you know what your getting with Wimpy. Chef seems to have been there for ages,always friendly ,checks on your meal and seems genuinely pleased to serve you. Speisekarte ansehen

Has gone right down hill since the new owner took over . The old owners were so nice since the sleazy one has it it’s never busy in there an an as I said before food not nice plus never seen a turnaround of staff they never last long he really don’t know how to treat his staff

I visited this restaurant for a nostalgia trip and ordered an international grill. Unfortunately, the food was overcooked and the burger was dry and rubbery. The server even had to give me two eggs because he broke the first one. I couldn't eat the burger and had to leave it. The staff seemed unfriendly and when I mentioned the issue with the burger, the server was very rude. He offered me a free coffee, but I expressed that the problem was with the burger. In response, he rudely said he didn't want me to come back anyway. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and won't be returning.

I visited here with my sister Wednesday as I have visited many times before and as usual the whole visit was great. The chef and waitress have been here for years and are nothing but lovely and know how to run a cafe. The food is always tasty and well presented, the environment always spotlessly clean. The atmosphere of the whole place is always pleasant . I have no idea about the comments made by others. They must have gone somewhere else because they bear NO resemblance to my repeated experiences or those of my friends who regularly visit. Me and becky visited Wimpy as were down in Basildon and I used to love a wimpy however it was disgusting and so so unorganised. We ended up walking out after seeing burgers heated up in a microwave. There was coffee bean residue on my saucer, we watched three staff members check the same takeaway bag, three tables were taken out and not one went to the correct table, our order was taken and then we were asked a further two times if we wanted to order and then was asked if everything was ok with our meal when we hadn’t even been fed. We bought our coffee and left and we will never return. No wonder there aren’t many Wimpys around anymore

The staff were horrible. I was with several people who have allergies and are diabetic. Certain things on the meal we was ordering they couldn’t have as they’re allergic. I asked if we could swap one thing and take one thing off and the chef was extremely rude to my frail old nan who I was requesting it for, he shouted at us. We left the premises without anything to eat as he couldn’t simply remove one thing from the food before he even cooked it!! He aggressively said ‘you can cook your own food’ and stormed off. The waitress who was originally taking our order before he took over said ‘good luck’ when he was about to come over and take it. NOT A GOOD THING TO SAY TO CUSTOMERS!!

Upon arrival, we found our table to be dirty and had to clean it ourselves. The person in charge of the wimpy bar was seen shouting at a staff member, causing them to walk out. After waiting about 10 minutes, we placed our order with the usual pleasant waitress. Unfortunately, we waited for 40 minutes and had to reorder when the shouting man came over to take our order. Our order was incorrect, but we didn't feel like waiting another 40 minutes to get it fixed. When we brought up the mistake to the shouting man, he was rude and insisted we pay for the incorrect order. Overall, the elderly Italian man running the restaurant was very unpleasant and we will not be returning due to his behavior. Speisekarte ansehen
