"Couples meal with high expectations, which were not really met. Correct and friendly service, but when they bring you the menu and it is quite stained around the edges, in a place with medium-high tikect you are suspicious, we order everything to share. Gyozas have a good flavor, good meat, but with a too compact minced meat, it does not do justice to the quality of the meat. The ear is good, the dish is well presented and the chili pepper gives it a spicy touch, but for my taste and this is personal, it lacks a crunchy touch on the outside, the kind of scolding they put as a base does not supplement. Chicken cannelloni, because surely PQ stayed longer than it should before serving it to us, it came out cold, too compact dough with hardly any flavor and the crispiness was already soft and rubbery from the time it had been in contact with the sauce, a nonsense. The waitress kindly asked us if she didn't serve another dish when she realized we ate practically nothing of the cannelloni, and we rejected the offer, although it is valued We also did not like that they offered us the tenderloin under maturation for 30 days off the menu, we asked for it and after a while they tell us that it is not left and we must ask for another dish, our surprise comes when tables that arrived later continued to offer and serve it, we imagine Serving a tenderloin to share at a table of two is not profitable for them and they save it for tables with more diners who need more than one tenderloin per table ...... To improve, you ask for a wine, they offer you red rivera or Rioja, but even if you ask how our case was, they don't tell you if it's vintage or aging, or its name, and they serve it to you casually covering the label by the waitress so as not to see its provenance . "Broke the journey from Santander to Marbella at Alcala de la Henares, on the outskirts of Madrid. The hotel seemingly closes its restaurant on many Saturday nights as it does a lot of weddings! Somewhat irritating! So if you find yourself in the Isla de la Garena hotel with a closed restaurant and a limited 'cafeteria ' menu you may feel the urge to go elsewhere. Look no further than the Alcaravea Alcala! I called and booked a table in English which I could have done in Spanish but it 's nice to know with limited Spanish that lingo isn 't going to be a problem. Arrived at 8:15 and the place was empty not surprising in this part of the world. But the staff were very friendly and obliging. I ordered a main course of Monkfish king Prawn kebab brochetta de Rape y Langoustines) which was very good; it literally came by itself with no garnish other than garlic butter but I should have asked, as this is often the case in Spain. It was actually 2 kebabs and certainly a generous portion. A point here the waiter suggested I shouldn 't order a starter due to the generous portion size! This dish was a special and there was a very good choice of food on the standard menu, supplemented by a good choice of specials. By 9:15 the place was pretty much full with a good crowd of Spanish friends and family having a good night out. I succumbed to the dessert menu which in fact is a tray with examples of all the evenings desserts which they bring around and explain the choices. The Cheesecake was very good. Followed by coffee and a drink on the house. Not in a hurry to return to the hotel, I finished the evening with a premium Spanish brandy. I chose to walk to the restaurant which took 10 minutes each way, but taxis are apparently available. A very friendly competent restaurant with interesting decor and a good atmosphere."
