"A beautiful venue with a hard working and very friendly staff. Extra credit to the friendly and very professional Romanian hostess, she's an Ace. A wide variety of food on the menu and our choice of food was just perfect as well as the wine selection. Very nicely situated at the Boulevard directly at the beach A wonderful atmosphere, perhaps you could call it with a touch of Mexican or Cuban style, very colorful, with some very enjoyable live music. We had a very pleasant evening and to finalize my comment... not to worry about the friendly bill. Definitely worth a 5 star rating."

"Fuimos la primera vez a comer, el arroz es espectacular recomendable 100%, el pescado es fresco lo traen cada dia de la lonja. La segunda vez que hemos ido a cenar, nos pedimos la pizza casera al horno de leña, muy rica y sabrosa. Muy atentos y la presentación muy buena, hemos ido un par de veces y repetiremos una tercera seguro. "Another lovely Sunday lunch with visiting family at this chiringuito , As usual ,busy busy busy. Vegetable paella was a winner this time ,which included artichokes ,asparagus and butter beans ,with bbq chicken halves, following our first course of a sharing platter of frito misto.., griddled bread,tomatoes and allioli and the freshest, hugest ! mixed salad , with jugs of sangria and beer .all served by happy staff Thoroughly recommend,…..in my opinion……,best paella in the area, Plastic tables and chairs, small tumblers for drinks , paper tablecloths, loud families chatting, no music no pretentiousness ,Love it !"

"La palabra chiringuito de playa casi está reñida con comer bien. Pero hay excepciones. El Cranc de la Olla de Altea es un chiringito de playa con unas vistas excepcionales y en un entorno paisajístico encantador, pese a la galopante agresión urbanística de la zona, sometida a altísimas presiones inmobiliarias. El Cranc es de esos sitios que se esfuerza en dar sus clientes buen pescado y una amplia variedad de arroces. No hay que complicarse la vida: Buen pescado fresco a la plancha, servido en parrilladas variadas, chipironcitos, y arroces alicantinos en una amplia variedad. Para terminar fruta. De ir aun chiringuito, el Cranc es una buena opción y ya es un clásico con más de 25 años a sus espalpas. Lo es porque sus mesas llegan a asomarse a la propia orilla del agua y demás uno se siente en un pueblo, aunque cada vez más Altea se nos aleje de esa imagen bohemia que hace años tuvo. Y es que la Olla de Altea, sigue teniendo un aire de rincón aparte . Para los amantes de los fuegos artificiales, durante el mes de agosto, se lleva cabo el “Castell de l’Olla”. Un evento pirotécnico-musical que organiza la cofradía que preside José Navarro “Barranquí”, Cronista Oficial de Altea y, además, dueño del restaurante “El Cranc” (y de la L´Olleta)."

"A wonderful eating experience! Good service from friendly attentive staff , excellent food and a beautiful sea view! Great value for money! We have eaten here twice and both times left very satisfied. First time was shared tuna salad, salmon and pork medallions served with potato and veg followed by shared cheese cake. Second time was shared goats and blue cheese salad, Tuna medium and chicken with cheese and the tasty cheesecake again! Washed down with a large glass of wine. We are very fortunate to be able to eat out often and this restaurant has never disappointed! Thank you."

Es esencial probar la crepe (ambas camarones y salmón) así como el espagueti marino con almejas. "This restaurant is now called Nou Valentino. We stopped going to this restaurant two years ago because of the very poor service. Friends told us it had improved so we tried it again. Nothing has changed. We got to the restaurant at 7.30 and left at 11.00pm because of the extremely slow service. Three of us had fillet steaks, which were acceptable although the foie gras on mine was over cooked. My friends iberico secreto was not acceptable it was greasy, chewy and tough and buried in thin straw chips with no vegetables. Our overall complaint however was the extremely slow and poor service. I was the first to order and I gave my starter choice and then the waitress started to walk away. I called her back saying we had not finished ordering. Things only went down hill from there. We had to wait over an hour between our starters and main courses and these only arrived after we had queried where they were and even then we had to wait a further 15 minutes until we received our main courses. And again after our main courses, we had to ask where our desserts were, again having waited 45 minutes. The waitress told us that the kitchen had not communicated with her and she did not know we were waiting. When we complained about the poor service we were offered no apology by either the waitress or the stand in manager, and were just told that the restaurant had been busy!!!! I will definitely never go to this restaurant again. I very rarely complain or post a poor review and it saddens me to have to have to write this review. There are much better restaurants to choose from in Altea La Vella."

"We went to this restaurant on our first night in Altea. We all had Chicken Shoarma. It came with two sauces, chips, pitta bread and salad. Lovely chicken, chips to die for , really nice bread and the tastiest salad I've had in years. Nice friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Going again tonight. Would recommend to anyone."

"First impressions may be underwhelming it's located on a busy road and the exterior could do with a luck of paint) but there is some good cooking here at reasonable cost. Nothing fancy but the paella has a deserved reputation and the desserts were a cut above the average. Nice house white wine too. Our waiter Emilio was friendly and professional . "We were celebrating father's day and the truth is that we couldn't get any more happy. We ate in the small reserve where we were very a drop and well attended. We wanted to try many things, as we came hungry and enjoyed everything we tried. the oysters of two excellent and fresh types; the ceviche an explosion of flavor, the tataki of tuna was undone in the mouth and the chopitos and sepionets of first. the bull's tail and the sweet and tasty carrill. all accompanied by good wine and good service. the price completely according to the quality. we will return! jaume does not fail."

"Sencillamente delicioso, platos originales con sabores exóticos y agradables a la vista y al paladar. Picor, el justo y necesario, tomamos la ensalada laap de pato, curry rojo de gambas con arroz kao, pad thai de ternera y salteado con jengibre. "Delicious! When you have a chance, go for lunch and bait at the stromboli restaurant. located in the old town of the village, very close to the cathedral, we find this Italian restaurant. "Hacia tiempo que queríamos ir a este restaurante y en esta ocasión decidimos reservar e ir a cenar un jueves por la noche. El lugar es bonito y la terraza acogedora, sobretodo si te toca en primera línea tendrás unas buenas vistas. Como entrante por parte de la casa te invitan a un frasco con gazpacho. Nos dejamos aconsejar por Claudia y para comenzar pedimos el foie de rape, bastante bueno, sabor intenso a pescado y consistencia algo menos compacto que su homólogo de oca. Seguimos con un carpaccio de gamba muy bueno, con sabor gamba, buena cantidad y en su punto de temperatura, recomendable. El bacalao con bologñesa de sepia estaba súper bueno, con el bacalao en su punto, jugoso, al punto de sal y de buen tamaño. Y una especie de tacos rellenos de rabo de toro y por fuera con azúcar glass y canela. Curiosa y acertada combinación entre carne y dulce. Muy ricos. Por último una panacota de romero muy buena y con un toque a romero genial. Todo acompañado de un vino tinto."

"This is our second time to Pizzeria Porrino. We live here locally in Valencia and attempt to try as many pizza places as possible. The pizza here is traditionally Neapolitan, the crust is very delicious, the sauce is just right, and the pizza overall is top notch Neapolitan. We have tried the diavola, margherita, and cotto pizzas, and they are all delicious. My wife is not a true pizza lover, prefers the salads, tried one last week and was not impressed, but last night she tried one with jamon iberico and she loved it. If I were to complain about anything, I feel the menu is a bit limited in some regards, maybe a better variety of appetizers would be nice, not really sure. In the end I always start out thinking I want more than just a pizza, but by the end the pizza fills me up so much that I cannot eat another morsel, so maybe it is just me. I do miss a traditional carpaccio for sure, that is my go-to appetizer when eating Neapolitan pizza. My daughter loves the Tiramisu and my son liked the cheesecake the first time we were there. Last time he ate two pizzas by himself, so there was no room for the cheesecake. The owner and staff are very friendly, provided is with complimentary focaccia, treated us very well, took care of all our needs quickly. I see a lot of people complain about service and I just want to say one thing overall.... Here in Spain, Valencia since we are here, the service is usually spot on, they take your order, bring your food, leave you alone until you look for them. Service can be interpreted as slow at times, but here in Spain we order, eat, and sit for hours after the fact to talk and enjoy the moment. Coming from the U.S., I know this is not the way, we always ate and ran, but here, after living here for 5 years, we have learned what going out to eat is about, and it is not just the meal. I can say the first time we came to this restaurant, the service was a little slow, but they were always attentive and happy to help us when we signaled we needed something. Enjoy the food, this place is worth the visit, the pizza is excellent!"
