"I have eaten tappas here quite a few times over the past few years, so I was looking forward to my last visit on a Thursday evening. The place was quiet, with only 2 other tables in use on our side of the restaurant. Food was not good, and service was very slow My Husband accidentally spilled half a pint of lager all over the table and floor where he was sat, and despite pointing this out to the waitress, no one came to clean it up, so he sat for half an hour in a puddle of lager! several of our favourite tappas were sold out, and this on a quiet weekday evening. Meatballs were in a bland sauce that tasted of tinned tomatoes only, and they were burnt, literally black on top. Despite asking for the dessert menu, no one came to ask if we wanted a dessert, and a portion of chips/patatas fritas if you can call 20 chips in a tiny basket a portion), came after all plates had been cleared at the end of the meal. God knows how they cope on a busy night. Food was expensive and some portions too small lamb chops) given the price £11. The mushrooms in garlic and parsley sauce were very salty, and the paella was small and again bland. One good point, the pate was nice, and a decent portion, but the rest Meh. No one came to ask if we were happy with the food either. Could not wait to pay and leave, and unfortunately, we will not be back."

"Hello fellow chinese enthusiasts, A week ago we travelled to the beautiful town of Barnsley to try this fine establishment, and I must say Barnsley is not as beautiful as advertised on tv. However, this chinese delighted us and our tastebuds also. To start with, we ordered salt and pepper chips. These were unlike any other salt and pepper chips we have ever witnessed and indulged upon. This place has made a name for itself, nevermind manny on the map it’s more like Barnsley on the map, due to this takeaway! Bossman seemed very average to the naked eye, but he made the salt and pepper chips different to anyone has ever made them in the history of chips. My ex said they were different to any others, they lied. Bossman dif not lie, I love people who speak the truth, like bossy wossy. Although he did not crack a smile, he holds a very special place in our hearts. We thought they were perfect, however our 3 year old son named Dave Kebab said he wished for a few more onions since he is a little bit of a weirdo. But ignore him, like we do. Next up is the noodles, I counted 127.5 noodles in the small container, which is pretty standard as we always do the pre meal noodle count. I’m glad they know the standard measurements for noodles. They were pretty plain, like Jayne my ex. Let’s just say she wasn’t very adventurous;)x if you’re reading this I love and forgive you! Buy our merch in the comment section, fortune cookies, was £5.99 now £5.98, buy 1 get none free! Last but not least was the chicken which was gorgeous, glorious and gardening! DAVE GET BACK TO BED! Sorry our son just came down crying about gardening, we meant to say green! This chicken was very nice and the use of veg was vegarious which loosely translated in Malaysian means Ducklings. Which is relatively decent. It was crispy on the inside and fluffy on the outside, like a duckling. We would recommend this chicken to all of our friends, but we don’t have any, we dedicate all our time to you guys making sure you always get the food you deserve! Remember to like and subscribe, this isn’t the life we chose, but it is our life we give up for you for just the small wage of £1.76 per hour, to share! Believe me having chinese for breakfast, lunch and dinner is hard! It’s not like in the movies. "after a nice Christmas time in '16, we used the keys again for our 2017 meal. on the advance until the day the communication was really easy, and if there was a delay in the answer, it was not more than a few days. we were advised about the best meal times to choose with allergies, and the beverage packages that were available to us. in the night our drinks package was put on the table and we could sit and relax. one of our party ran late, but it was 't a problem that we communicated with the personal and they held our meals back for us. the eating was nice, the personal was really attentive and we had another amazing night."

"I previously left a 5-star review for this restaurant, but today was a different experience. There was no staff present when we wanted to place our order. I asked a lady sitting down (who turned out to be a dining room assistant) if she could help, but she said she had not started yet. We waited for 10 minutes with a child for someone to attend to us at the carvery or at least to let us know how long we would have to wait. By the time someone finally came to clear our table, my cup of tea and two meals were cold. The dining room assistant seemed disgruntled and did not ask if our food was alright. She left a mess on the table even though she knew we were having desserts. I had to shout and request for a clean up. She quickly wiped up the mess with tissue paper, but it was not completely clean. We are regular customers, often coming in large groups, and we are hoping to have our usual amazing dining room lady back. If she has left, we may have to reconsider. The service and cleanliness were shocking and unacceptable."

"Went in for an early dinner at 11.30am, but were told they don't take orders for dinner until 12pm. We just sat at a table, had drinks and chatted for a bit so it wasn't a problem. I had macaroni cheese with bacon and my nephews ordered off the kids menu. Good selection on the kids menu, usually it's about four things, but there's had a much larger choice which was good. My Mum had the caeser salad. Food was very tasty and came in good time. The lady who served us was chatty, friendly and very smiley. Good experience all round."

"Party of 12 food was tasteless and underserved cooked I appreciate veg is Al-Dante but raw is a bit different the lamb and beef was pure fat not edible. It was clean mass produced. Booked for 12 people and were split up on 2 tables of 6. We booked as a family and was split due to fire doors but had booked weeks before and was not catered for. We might as well have thrown the money at the side of the road. We saw multiple customers walk away from the food on the table"

"This was the worst carvery I have ever had. Waited for the guy to come out of the kitchen to carve the meat for what seemed like an age. We were seated by an open window with the wind blowing in we asked the waitress if we could close it, blinds filthy which in turn left hands filthy. The food was totally cold. The meat was extremely fatty but managed to get a small piece without fat. The meat was tough. In the end we gave up because it was too cold to eat. Informed the waitress of our disappointment and her response was well you should have said and walked off. Never again."

"We literally stumbled upon this gem whilst doing some walks in the area. Despite being slightly muddy from our walks, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and invited to find a seat. There are plenty of tables and benches outside if the weather allows it! This we were able to to and once ordered we moved outside to a bench. The menu on the table had plenty to choose from and there were specials on a blackboard. We chose a pot of tea for 2, cheese ham toastie and a panini with black pudding, bacon and Brie. Each of these came with salad tortilla chips. There was enough tea for almost 6 cups and the food was very tasty. The ham in the toastie was a thick slice of ham and not just a wafer of processed meat. This all cost £16 which we thought was a bargain. An amazing little oasis in an area that does not offer much in terms of eating opportunities! The staff were extremely welcoming and efficient. There is ample parking in their carpark and there is a restroom onsite. If you’re in need of a cuppa and snack, this place will not disappoint"

"Food is nice enough, BUT...... they don't provide you with the the itemised bill to your table for review (which I found odd) and instead they ask you to pay at the counter on the way out. We (6 of us) asked to pay separately and there was then no transparency, with the waiter claiming not to be able to read the hand writing on the bill. The charge seemed high for what we'd ordered. This seems to have happened to other people who have visited according to these reviews, and might explain why the place was empty on a Friday night. Used to be one of my favourite places a few years ago, but this all seemed a bit shifty. Don't think I'll go back again sadly."

"While visiting family in Penistone we met at Cafe Creme for a late breakfast. We had the best coffee, I had a small (meaning less milk) flat white. I was totally surprised. The coffee is roasted in small batches by a local man. It was superbly unexpected in this small town. In addition, they had a huge range of homebaked gluten and dairy free cakes, to name a few Battenberg, Bakewell cake and tart, salted caramel, lemonade, and Victoria sponge. We shared a piece of salted caramel as a gluten tolerant person I thought the quality was superb. The cafe is run by a mother-daughter team. We got to meet the baker as she brought a beautiful Battenberg cake. Delightful spot, made me wish that I lived there."

"Oh my goodness. I have never been served by such rude waitresses. This was my first visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. I will not be recommending it to my friends or colleagues. We ordered food and coffee, and then I asked for a cold drink. The waitresses seemed disinterested and unhelpful when I inquired about them. This happened at 10:30 in the morning, so I can't imagine how poor the customer service must be later in the day. The management of this establishment needs to reconsider their hiring process. The food was good, and we didn't have any issues with not being provided with cutlery or napkins. However, I would be ashamed if my child ever spoke to such disrespectful individuals. On a positive note, I noticed there was a cafe across the parking lot that looked promising. I would suggest giving it a try instead."

"A huge thank you to all the McDonalds Staff at Tankersley firstly for your understanding of my predicament automatic car stuck in the center of the car park that would not start) your swift action to cordon off parking spaces so other cars could navigate around me safely, the hot drinks you brought out to me, the warm hi viz coat you lent me and general pleasant attitude from all of the staff especially Andrea who was a huge help, asking some of the local delivery drivers if they could help. Although this was not the most pleasant experience for me I was very surprised by the numerous generous offers from not only the staff but the general public to assist me. A big thank you to the stranger and his partner who managed to work out how to get an automatic Jaguar into neutral so it could be pushed out of the way while waiting for the recovery vehicle and sorry to all the people that had to navigate around me in the car park prior to this for over 2 hrs. Thank you Andrea and the rest of the McDonalds Team."

"Came here for the first time in years Monday as we took my mum out for a meal. I arrived around 45 minutes early but the staff were lovely they let us get seated and we had coffee when arrived and it was brilliant. Ordered the food great lady at the bar taking orders really friendly. Food come and was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. Now I have given only 3 stars due to 1 member of staff been rude to my mother. My mother has worked in catering for nearly 30 years and once we had eaten my mum tried to clear our table she always does everywhere we go and this member of staff was so rude to my mother I do that in a disapproving tone of voice like my mother was a child after that the same member of staff brought pudding to the table and the mucky lucks and pulling her nose up at my mother she didn 't even speak to my mother bringing her pudding she just shoved it on the table infront of her and mucky lucked her. Now everyone had bad days but a bit of respect for people goes alone way I think this member of staff should change her job because she isn 't suited to working with people at all and if we had been there any longer i would have said something as she made my mum feel uncomfortable. But on the other hand every other member of staff was brilliant nothing was too much trouble they were all nice and polite . I will be booking again but will be insisting that member of staff does not serve us. Overall was a lovely meal .would have been 5 stars"

"My daughter had her wedding reception here afternoon and night she spoke to Jordan and went through everything with him from the room decorating to the afternoon food and the evening buffet and he certainly didn't disappoint the room looked amazing 100% professional the hot buffet was beautiful all the meats were tender and the best roast potatoes I've tasted all the guests commented on how lovely it was. When they brought out the evening buffet again we wasnt disappointed the choice of sandwiches was unreal and they did a beautiful seafood platter along with the usual sausage rolls pork pie they also did cakes and plenty of fruit plus lots more choices all beautiful again. The DJ and disco again very professional and entertaining he played music from every era depending on who was up dancing. The staff bless them worked so hard they were very polite and friendly keeping the tables clear of empty glasses inside and outside where they have two beer gardens one which has a play area for the children. I would highly recommend this pub for any function and also for popping in for a drink and a bite to eat 100%."

"We found this place quite by accident and have been a few times now over the last few months. The food has been consistently wonderful and Martin and his team have always been kind, welcoming and friendly. I really don't get the bad reviews as that has not been our experience at all. "I had breakfast at this restaurant on Saturday and everything was delicious. The eggs could have been cooked a little longer for my liking, but the veggie sausages were amazing. The staff were very busy and there was always a line, so a bigger location would be helpful. However, I understand that it might lose some of its cozy charm. The homemade milkshakes, cakes, and brownies were all delicious. The staff were wonderful."
