"We booked a table for 6 people, we are local and had 4 friends visiting from Cambridgeshire and thought The Ship would be ideal. How wrong were we. The background music was so loud we could not hear the waitress or our friends. We waiting a long time to order and for food to come out. Two friends ordered stew, when it came out, it looked like it had been sitting in the bowls for days, dry, hard and tough, and top it all it was cold. We sent it back after stating the issue and it arrive back micro waved so much it was brittle. unable to eat and both were left uneaten, the other meals on the table were all served luke warm. Two guest had deserts, which were average. We were not the only table return food we saw it happened on two other tables. The waitress was apologetic and was embarrassed. We did receive a 10 per cent discount on the food bill but this did not compensate for the disastrous fiasco of the quality and temperature of the food served. Needless to say we will not be returning or recommending The Ship. This is a shame as we are local and it would be nice to be able to eat local."

"Haven't sat in the restaurant side for a long time, completely changed menu, the food looked well presented with good options,. I thought it would just fish and chips, but there were good alternatives to deep-fried fish. I had basic cod and chips, which was served to perfection, cooked just right, the fish was moist, not dry, the chips were golden but not dripping in oil or fat."

"The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of breakfast items and other delicious treats. We were pleased with all the breakfasts we ordered, especially the omelette. The sausage and mash dish was also tasty, with a generous serving of onion gravy. The sausages were on the larger side but of slightly lower quality, which wasn't a problem considering the casual cafe atmosphere. The coffee was excellent and the service was quick and friendly. The only suggestion I have is to make the bubble and squeak crispy. I would definitely come back here and highly recommend it for a great breakfast."

"Amazing restaurant with fantastic staff. Very clean and we 'll decorated. Nice gentle music in the background. Genuine authentic Turkish menu. The flavours are unreal. You won 't be disappointed and you certainly won 't leave Feeling hungry. I had the King prawns to start, the sauce was amazing even my wife who doesn 't eat fish enjoyed the sauce with Pitta bread. Prawns were also really nice quality and cooked really well. My wife had Mititi kofte, again fantastic starter. Main I had Halep Kebab, which was unreal. Well recommend, a nice kick to it but not so spicy a wimp like me couldn 't enjoy it. Simply brilliant. My wife had mixed shish with yogurt. The lamb was amazing, chicken brilliant the sauce again fantastic, well recommend. We enjoyed a few cocktails aswell. We ordered x2 Al a Turka delights. Such a beautiful cocktail well recommend, presentation was superb. You 'd think we was in a top London cocktail bar. £8.95. 100% worth it. I also enjoyed a Hugo which has become my new favorite cocktail. Sensational. In summery, 100% return again. Well recommend. Zero faults. Very reasonable price for the quality and amount of food given. Must visit!! Visited for my wife 's Birthday. 10/06/2022."

"Quirky interior, which was great. Spoke to a young man behind the counter who told us to take a seat and someone would be with us. A young girl and older woman looked at us a few times over the minutes that we were sat there, before the younger girl finally brought menu's. Huge menu, with lots to choose from. Ordered a few minutes later, and waited. Sadly we were informed that they no longer do child sized portions of the cakes, so we ended up with a massive slab of chocolate cake which was only half eaten by our year old. The older woman then approached the table with waffles but referred to one of them with a different name to that on the menu, so we politely said that wasn't our order. The woman basically barked at us that this was what we had ordered. We tried to explain that we hadn't ordered a waffle with that name, and she gave us the filthiest look before tutting and storming back to the counter. We didn't catch what she called us as she walked away. She then very clearly spoke to the young girl about us, giving us filthy looks throughout. The young girl came over with the same waffles and apologised stating there was a miscommunication and that the waffle was the one we has ordered, and not the one the old woman had said. Maybe it would be best to keep such a rude woman out of a public facing role as she clearly holds no interest in any customer service, unless it is bad customer service. She was giving filthy looks to other customers too, not just us, and a couple who dared to walk out after of being ignored was slated by her as they left."

"Hands down the worst customer experience I’ve ever witnessed. Clearly being run by children who couldn’t care less about the place. We came in for some dessert and the staff actually moved away and avoided eye contact which was a very strange “greeting” I then asked if we were okay to go and sit upstairs to which they replied “yes”. We picked out a sundae and a guy told us there was no ice cream, no explanation offered, were they out of every single flavour on offer, surely not!? Was the whippy machine not working? At this point we decided we were going to give it a miss as we felt very unwelcome. When we left there was no apology, no communication not even a good bye just blank stares from 4 “workers”. I never leave reviews but this was so poor it needed to be documented."

"in the center of the medieval canterbury is an old and tasty restaurant, named for the famous Trapiste, which serves typical Belgian foods (although we are in england). this place is a cross between a bar, a tea room and a restaurant. besides a large selection of beers, they enjoy delicious dishes such as the exceptional burgers that are served with homemade brot, or the special tee with cream. the restaurant has a rustic feel, and each chair is another style. the terrace is magnificent, and there is even a pavillon, decorated with tiny lights that they feel like surrounded by stars in the midst of this beautiful medieval building. on the ground floor they find a piano with a sign that invites guests to entertain the audience with their musical talents. excellent service, with waiterven are always friendly and helpful."

"The chicken was extremely dry and the service was average. My partner's allergy-free dish was brought out 5 minutes after mine. I had trouble using my Nandos points due to a weak connection, and the manager was not very helpful in resolving the issue. Ultimately, I was unable to use my points. If you are seeking a simple meal, you will not be disappointed."

"Exceptional takeaway experience and quite possibly the finest in Canterbury. The food is impeccably fresh and bursting with bold flavors. Their definition of "hot" is truly fiery, unlike some other takeaways. The staff are polite and efficient, providing speedy service. While most of the packaging is recyclable, there are a few areas for improvement such as the plastic outer wrapper and bag for chapatis. Generous portions and great value for money make this a top choice. Overall, you won't be disappointed dining here."

"We were attended to in good time and shown to our table in the garden there were 2 of us and we were seated in the garden (which we asked for) but the table for 2 is right in the middle of a paved area with the other tables around the edge not very private. We ordered a bottle of wine it came in boiling hot wine cooler and the bottle of wine (white wine) was warm. When I pointed this out to the waitress she said it couldn't be helped as the wine coolers were kept on top of where the coffee machine was. I said I sympathised but that we didn't ask for a bottle of warm white wine. I asked if she would please bring some ice to put in the cooler which she did but is was still warm and never really got cold all the time we were there. The food was ok but not as good as the previous time we were there, it was served lukewarm."

"I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Zizzi. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but it has really gone downhill. The server seemed unhappy and annoyed, making us feel like we were bothering her. We were seated at a window table, crammed in between other diners. The food arrived in just 5 minutes, which made me question how it was prepared, and didn't allow us time to settle in and enjoy our meal. To add to the disappointment, our drinks (tap water) were forgotten and arrived after the food. The salad my friend ordered was unappetizing, with hardly any lentils and sad lettuce leaves. Although we were asked if our food was okay, there was no offer for dessert, coffee, or anything else after our plates were cleared. Overall, we were let down as we have had enjoyable experiences at Zizzi in the past."

"I don't tend to eat in chain restaurants, but for wagamama I make a take. their vegan options are delicious, innovatiw and good priced. for today's trip to canterbury, I tried the vegan ripening and vegan chicken frames for the first time. they were both delicious and full of taste, although textually I prefer the sincean vegatsu. the rugs were so delicious and spicy, I really liked the sambal paste, and I added the vegan ei 1.50 extra) which is usually not included with the chicken style because I wanted to try it I was pleasantly surprised. that is quite convincing if they wanted to make the egg yolk with Kala name, I'm sure they could, but I still enjoyed it. the modest Bangbang-Cauliflower is still the cong of the menu. that is canterbury I will just say it is quite early in the evening (post-shopping, many families) so there was a long wait around 6:15 when we showed up and service was slower than usual. around half 7 it had emptied a lot. "what for a profit of a fund! for the day to cantebury landed and did not expect to find such a beautiful health food café. very popular, people in and out there small caffe great to see healthy food caffes decrease as these. the menu is great and food deliveries in taste can easily compete with any local iondon health café. healthy desserts are not all healthy, as sugar only the datum balls are a safe bet. the coca hot drink is something I never had, an amazing one! their only failure is their service, a little disprganized, especially with regard to their bills. the only place to go to cantebury!"

"My wife and I booked on the Saturday Evening for 20:00 and, after reading the reviews, had high expectations. The restaurant was busy on our arrival and we were not given a choice of table but put at the back in a dark corner. I noticed another free table adjacent which was better positioned so asked to be moved and, after much checking with the manager, we were moved. The table was still not really ideal for a couple wanting to have a nice meal and conversation since it was placed right next to a table of 8 having a 30th Birthday party and being very noisy all evening. Service was, at best, mediocre and the waiter even forgot to bring a second glass of wine that I ordered mid main course. Most of the attention seemed to be on the party table and we felt quite neglected. Service was slow and our meal took a total of 2.5 hours. We didn't bother with a desert or coffee as were becoming quite exasperated at the end of the main course. Food was very good and very enjoyable but, for a bill of approx. £110 for the two for the two of us with a bottle of rose and a single extra glass of red (should have been 2 had the waiter remembered it was not worth the money. Parties and groups should be kept separate from couples wishing to dine together its common sense !! So overall, not great considering the price, location and our expectations all let down by a general management style (or lack of! also no phone signal in the location and no wiFi available so like being in the dark ages. One positive, besides the food was the two musicians playing the piano and violin which, we were occasionally able to hear over the raucous noise from the group on the adjacent table."

"I came to old weavers on Christmas Day with my family, we had a table of 9. The staff and manager here made our experience so lovely and completely made our Christmas Day perfect! "I usually don’t write reviews for restaurants but this restaurant was really gave us an amazing experience and i feel compelled to write this review Firstly;; just wanna state that this restaurant is SEVERELY UNDERRATED. When we entered the restaurant, there was nobody else dining here. Starting off with the pricing of the food. The prices of food here is relatively cheaper than everywhere else in the city and for the quality of the food that they serve, it’s a price for great value. Next, foods. There’s not that many options for food here but it doesn’t matter because the food here is AMAZING and i do not say that lightly. They serve a 3 course meal for £14 with foods you will probably not find anywhere else in Canterbury. The food was succulent and was delivered relatively quickly; they even made sure to serve us after we’d finish our starters more on this in the service section later but the foods, from starter to main course and dessert were simply sensational. I would highly recommend for everyone to try. Lastly, service. Where do i even start the service was simply put: amazing. There were constant checkins on whether the food was okay, whether we needed anything— water refills; more bread (complimentary btw! or anything. Extremely friendly service and I can see the dedication in the waiter’s eyes as well. Thats all"

"beautiful place where we sat down, the decoration was very Moroccan and colorful. eating was amazing, there were 4 of us, so we ordered two of the plates to share as starters that were cooked to perfection. all netzen were excellent we had steaks, lammkofta and chicken kebabs all served with reischips. my only criticism would be that the service was a little on the slow side by saying that it would not stop me going back there. if they are in the opposite, I would recommend this place."

"When it comes to brunches, I 'm mainly concerned about the alcohol. It came at regular intervals for the 90 minutes pray for my liver. They provided lovely additions of orange, peach and apple purees to be added at will to our prosecco flutes. This, and and I suppose the main element, was ticking every box. Then our selected food items came out. Wow, wow, wow. Colourful, cooked to perfection, crispy, sweet and savoury, just a dream. I 'm not the biggest fan of breakfasty foods, so went for their for the table option, consisting of prawn crackers, crispy gyōzas, ribs and sweet sriacha fried wings. Divine. Combined with bao buns with a shredded beef ribs. Ahhh take me back. Overall, to anyone travelling to Canterbury, or even local to the establishment. If you 're looking for a fun afternoon with friends, whether to indulge in the brunch, or there separately for food and drink, I would definitely recommend."
