"Terrible Experience! From uncomfortable chairs and cramped tables, faulty toilet (no proper hand washing in gents- tap taped up in plastic bag) to really poor food- tough chewy pizza and chopped iceberg lettuce with unfresh tomato (described as fresh tomato/cucumber etc on a bed of lettuce) we thought it couldn't get worse. Apparently because we raised the food issues with his son (who was immediately defensive and irritatingly condescending) the owner ran after us outside and shouted at me across my wife in a face to face angry confrontation. Quite unbelievable behaviour from a family run restaurant who clearly have no customer focus and cannot handle any reasonable feedback or questioning of their produce. Avoid!!!"

"We went to this restaurant on Wednesday evening with a group of friends we loosely refer to as the 'Curry Club '. We meet once a month ish and go to a different restaurant. This month was India Lodge in Stotfold. The service was very good indeed, the man who took our order knew about the menu and he accommodated one of our people with a special request. The food was delicious and well prepared, presented cooked. The staff were very patient with our friend who has a disability and showed nothing but compassion for him. A firm favourite with the Boyz from our little club. Parking: Right outside. About 20 spaces"

"I have visited Flootes a few times this year either with my family or on my own each time the service has been fab. The front of house team are always friendly welcoming the food is great. The full English is excellent value for money £9.50 which includes a hot drink is deliciously tasty. The coffee is very good but the most fabulous thing is the homemade mince pies (served all year round) they are to die for. I have never tasted mince pies as good as these, give them a try! Dog friendly too, what more could you want? Thank you Flootes, keep up the good work."

"I live locally and this restaurant used to have a good reputation, I wish I had checked the reviews on TripAdvisor before booking this time!! We ate here on the 17 March. The King prawn starter is served in the same sauce as the grilled...octopus main, but the menu states they are different sauces but they weren't, maybe they couldn't be bothered that night! The monkfish pieces' is served with mashed potato but not stated on menu and it would appear nearly all seafood dishes are served like this. Why? The Tirimasu had visible mould on it!! Disgusting! The creme brulee was rock hard all through. I will not eat here again."

"This establishment doesn't even deserve a single star. They are misleading the public regarding their paneer melts. I ordered matar paneer, only to discover there was no paneer in it. When I returned to address the issue with the elderly waiter, he insisted that paneer melts by default, and if I wanted cubes, I should have specified it in the notes. In all my years, I've never heard of paneer supposedly melting, and it's absurd that you need to inform the restaurant to get cubes. It seems like they lack knowledge and tried to convince me that paneer melts, which is ridiculous. I strongly advise against visiting this place. I also returned to have my garlic naan reheated, but they returned it to me after 2 minutes, and it was still cold. The customer service is terrible. Their main concern was shutting down the restaurant ."

"AVOID I have never been so humiliated I appreciate when a place is busy food can be delayed , told 20 minutes was 45mins still not an issue Drinks arrived separately had to reorder 1 drink 3 times Ordered main and dessert at same time 2 desserts arrived not third BEFORE the main when I queried I was told by 2 members of staff that I was in the wrong and should of specified how I wanted to be served Never got the third dessert even after main . 1 member kept returning to patronise me because I had queried the order When I said while paying that they forgot the dessert staff did not want to admit they were wrong I was told I was rude Yet there staff raised their voice at me I asked her not to shout as I was stood right there Several members stood gossiping at bar about us (not that busy then) Absolutely disgusting rude narcissistic staff middle aged woman that obviously never had costumer service training or waitressing before NO MANNERS AWFUL PEOPLE .. "My family and I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite ordering chicken momo, we received chicken wraps instead. When I inquired about the difference, the waiter confidently claimed it was a unique style of chicken momo they do in Bangladesh. Though surprised, I chose not to make a fuss. Later, I discovered the waiter had either lied or was uninformed about the menu. Their online menu reflects different on their website too. This lack of transparency left us feeling scammed, and I would not recommend this restaurant due to the dishonesty in their service."

"Be prepared to be called a liar by a chap called Rory! I hope he has kept the cam footage to show you Food delivered not hot but warm but my grandchild’s beans where stone cold I mean like out the fridge uncooked cold I took them back because they don’t do check backs here , to be informed by Rory that the food was steaming when he bought it out ! I explained it was not and with a 5 yr child we checked but he carried on to insist it was steaming hot . I did not like being called a liar he had no right to do that. A manger came to apologise I also showed him my uneaten cold food which he offered to recook but I just wanted to leave as was upset and our children needed to go to bed no refund was offered just a please don’t complain plea . I’m done with this Weatherspoon now I know it’s cheap food but it has to be edible and I’m not being spoken to by this rude person who just wanted to argue with me"

"My work colleagues and I were staying In Biggleswade and needed to eat. We randomly arrived here to find the take away open but restaurant in darkness. There was a sign saying restaurant open turns out they were keeping by lights off to save money/and arguably the planet. Unorthodox and potentially not a great sign. Anyways the take away was busy (good sign) they turned the lights, placed a fan heater near the table and we sat down (with a couple of question marks in our minds). Turned out the guy was incredibly attentive and lovely, the food was lovely (and lots of it) and the whole experience was lovely. So what can I say about the Jade Garden except it was, yep, you got it…….. lovely"

"I recently came here with some friends and our babies and small children for lunch. it's not the first time I was here, but it was the first time with the baby. the coworkers that there are all very pleasant only unfortunately I feel. there is only not enough of them that leads to a Scottish service and long delays! also I felt that the cleansing of baby high chairs and dressing area was very below the point! I had to clean the high chairs myself and both were covered with black dust/dart. a little dust or food would be expected or accepted in a busy service, but that is not acceptable. the baby changer was also covered with thick dust and obviously this is not cleaned regularly. to the luck I had my own tettol spray and cloths. Despite several commentary about delays on hot drinks and can ask them to be served first, it took about mins plus for them to arrive and mins for our lunch. drinks are a profit margin, so I don't understand why this is still a running problem and management, not on board all commentaries. eating was very nice when it arrived and again the staff nice, but due to the long delays, and lack of communication and about cleaning questions. we will not come back until we know standards really change and more employees!"

"Went here as friend booked it for a group of us and on the recommendation of a few people. Sadly, we were very disappointed altogether but felt a bit awkward to complain at the time as didn’t want to upset friend who booked it. The service was very poor (albeit the manager was very friendly and bubbly at the end of the evening). It took ages to place our order, my and my friends meal was very disappointing (special beef bourguignon) was not very tasty and full of gherkins and the suet pudding was undercooked (beef inside was tasty) and we had to ask for plates to be removed after a long wait for table to be cleared. 2 friends had burgers who said they were okay. Will not be returning again."

"Ate here for the first time last night since under new management. Simply superb with respect to food quality, customer service, knowledge, flexibility etc. Amongst us we had the ribs, haddock, pork shoulder and child's chicken. Jake was super attentive and excellent value for money! Definitely recommend and we will be regulars now considering it's in walking distance. Too good to miss."

"Everything but everything cannot be faulted whether the comfort, decor or service Eleni (Helen)was absolutely fantastic as nothing was too much and all with a lovely smile. Then Missy served us too, again fantastic and so warm and friendly. Kelsey in charge of the kitchen gets , excellent all departments. The food was so so tasty, the fish cooked to perfection and the oak smoked chicken pate was so nice we ordered a second helping, likewise the calamari ×2. going there again, highly recommended! "Liked it will go again... let's tell you why. The staff are nice some particularly more so than others. I only had a light starter dessert from the menu and I liked my food choices, see photos. They had a live singer performing in the garden and this really added to the experience. Seating indoors I loved and I didn't choose to sit out however there are plenty of seating spaces. Good sized car park and I noted off the table top publicity that there are some featured events coming up which I am planning on going to. FYI it's a Greene King pub and I was pleasantly surprised... defo going back!"

"We went to this pub for an evening meal. The TV was on and competing for attention with the multiple speakers which were blaring out disco music, even in the loos.The staff were friendly and turned off the speaker right above our table when we...said we could not hear each other talking. I think this might be a nice pub if you are part of the local youth and just above legal drinking age but it is not a good place to eat dinner. The food was poor to low quality and all seemed frozen and tasteless. I had prawns for a starter. 5 tasteless frozen prawns in a tasteless batter for over £7 very disappointing. Why don't you get some fresh prawns and make some batter rather than serving the cheapest frozen prawns and then the price might be justifiable. Main courses were not very interesting, burger, pub pizza, etc. I went for the mixed grill. Sadly that was another disappointment. It was basically what you would get at a greasy spoon cafe but with an £18 price tag. Two cheap frozen sausages, two rashers of bacon, a small spoon full of watery mushrooms, a cheap tomato, some frozen chips, a fried egg, a thin slice of black pudding and half of very tough and gristle filled steak. Every mouthful of the steak had tough sinew woven through it and needed spitting out as it was impossible to chew. The plastic bottle of Happy Shoppers ketchup with the £1 price label was an indication of their quality concerns. In summery, this is a local lads pub and probably fine for a pint but do not waste your time or money coming here for food. If they spent a fraction more on the ingredients or tried getting some fresh vegetables and doing some proper cooking with a little more effort on preparation they might get more people eating here, We were the only people eating on a Friday evening. £80 bill for three of us which included 1 pint of bitter and two halves of larger, 3 starters and 3 main courses. That was it. We didn't have deserts as they had already proved they were not capable of preparing food. There are 2 Indian restraints, an Italian, a kebab shop, another pub across the road, a brasserie, a pancake place and a Chinese take away are all within two minutes walk and are all worth walking to rather that eating here. There is also an excellent Thai restaurant in Aspley Guise called the Blue Orchid which is the next village about a mile or two away. Sorry Fir Tree pub, we won't be back. I will give 2 stars as the staff were friendly other wise it would have been 1 star only. . ."

"Been to Luton Hoo for Afternoon Tea before so was looking forward to visiting again but what a disappointment! Was greeted by a young girl, no smiles, just said hello, showed us to our table, left us for about 5 minutes asking us what tea would we like, I had to mention we had booked for sparkling wine afternoon tea, probably wouldn’t have got it otherwise so decided what tea to have, didn’t take long as not much of a selection then she went off. 10 minutes later a young lad came with a small plate each, 5 sandwiches on each plate, what happened to the tier plates you use to get them on? Anyway, the roasted beef sandwich was the only nice one, the other 4 were tasteless and now to have to pay £8.00 for a refill but before they use to be free! Shocking! If they were all nice I would have paid extra as I was still hungry! The tea wasn’t much either, sparkling wine was ok. We ordered another 2 pots of tea to go with our cakes, well they were even worse, 4 small, doughy scones, 2 plain, 2 with raisins and literally 2 raisins in them, you couldn’t make it up! Small pot of jam and cream, certainly not enough for two but couldn’t be bothered to ask for more, just wanted to get out. Passion fruit chocolate mouse was bitter, green tea choux, why?, pineapple and buttermilk tart was as dry as anything and Victoria sponge was coconut sponge, rotten. The whole experience was dreadful, use to be such a lovely, busy place but it was so quiet, staff don’t care! Anyway we decided to leave without getting our 2nd pots of tea, can’t believe it took so long! Service was terrible. Will not be back."

"This is a weird rating...I was just walking past, and got talking to a couple, then chatted to someone else, then had a laugh with a bloke stroking my dog... so I never actually went in, had a drink, nor a bite to eat .... did not use any of the facilities however, if the clientelle/punters are anything to go by, I will be visiting soon, everyone was friendly, the atmosphere created was great.. only gave 4stars, as I cannot comment on it as an establishment. However location is great, right on the water xx"

"We had an impromptu Saturday lunch with friends at this lovely old village pub. The risotto was delicious and plentiful, and our dog Charlie enjoyed a plain chicken breast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the plates were chipped, the table cloths had food remnants, and the women's toilet was a bit dirty. Despite this, the dessert was a big treat. I would come back again and try something different next time, hoping for better attention to cleaning and upkeep."

"Well it’s a shame to give this a 3 star, Because we often eat here and it’s normally good. I wanted the award winning steak and ale pie , out of stock and they only had 3 options on the pub classics, so my wife and I went with fish&chips . The grandkids one had nuggets and chips and the other had a slightly strange combination , little beef burger with mash and beans. The mash looked like a cow pat and the beans were warm at best so only the burger got eaten. Back to the fish and chips well it’s got to be the worst looking plate of fish and chips I’ve seen in here , clearly the oil needs chaining as it looked brown rather than golden as it should and the fish inside the batter looked grey . We did eat it and it didn’t taste as bad as it looked. It’s such a shame to say as I said before we’ve never had a bad meal in here over the years. Oh they also didn’t have milkshakes to go with kid’s meal and the vegetables sticks side dish consisted of a few slices of cucumber ?? . On the other side of things the staff were very helpful and they made us welcome."
